In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child, the Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojo-Ede (OMO) Foundation partnered with the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Warri Chapter, to conduct a health and empowerment outreach at Ekpan Secondary School, Uvwie, Delta State.

The initiative was aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 3: Good Health and Well-being, 4: Quality Education, and 5: Gender Equality.
The outreach engaged hundreds of female students through interactive sessions focused on menstrual hygiene management and overall wellness. The aim was to provide accurate, practical health information that will support the girls beyond the classroom environment.

As part of the intervention, the Foundation distributed sanitary pads and writing materials to the students. This gesture reinforces the belief that every girl deserves dignity, access to basic care, and equal opportunities to learn and thrive without barriers.

Representing the Founder, Dr. Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojo-Ede, the Project Manager, Comr. Iso Effiong, addressed the students on the importance of intentional investment in the girl child. He noted that empowering girls is fundamental to building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.

The key message from the event remains: When a girl is empowered, her future is secured, her confidence is strengthened, and her entire community is uplifted.
The OMO Foundation remains committed to initiatives that advance the health, education, and well-being of girls and women across Delta State and Nigeria at large.

Christmas reminds us of what truly matters love, kindness, and looking out for one another. It’s a season that shows how even simple gestures can bring joy, comfort, and hope to people.

In that spirit, the OMO Foundation, led by Dr. Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojo-Ede, visited Koko Community and shared bags of rice with families, the community hospital, and the mosque. The goal was simple: to support the community during the festive season and make sure no one felt left out.
The response was filled with appreciation, prayers, and genuine smiles, showing how much thoughtful giving can mean.

Dr. Ojo-Ede also expressed his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and thanked God for the chance to give back.
This outreach is a reflection of the OMO Foundation’s commitment to caring for people and making a real difference where it matters.

Real impact is often found in the things that make everyday life a little better.
Through its continued work across Delta State and beyond, the Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojo-Ede (OMO) Foundation continues to turn compassion into practical support that reaches people where it matters most.

In Koko Community, Warri North LGA, the Foundation provided walkie-talkies to strengthen communication and community security, while commercial riders received helmets and reflective vests to promote safer journeys and greater protection on the road.

For local fishermen, the provision of nets and hooks offered more than equipment it provided the tools needed to support their livelihoods and sustain their daily income. A wheelchair provided another beneficiary with greater mobility, independence, and the freedom to move through life with renewed confidence.

The distribution of free grant forms also created another pathway to opportunity, giving aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to pursue new ideas, strengthen their businesses, and work towards greater financial independence.
Each intervention may have served a different need, but they all carried the same message: people matter, livelihoods matter, and every opportunity to improve a life is worth taking.

This is the kind of impact the OMO Foundation continues to pursue purposeful, practical, and centred on creating opportunities that make a lasting difference.
