EXCERPT FROM OUR WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY WITH INMATES. (Nigerian Correctional Center)
Usually we read a few chapters of the Bible then we dwell on the lessons.
An Inmate stood up and asked, Ma, From this Matthew Chapter 5 verse 44 "But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you in that way you will be acting as true children of your father in heaven"(NLT)
"So for example, some of us in this prison didn't commit the crime but someone just decided to use his influence to set us up, oppress and put us here, (with a trembling voice), Is God saying that we should pray for such person?? (with his hand on his head)
I was quiet for a second, not because I didn't know what to say, but I felt his pain, in my mind I said God disappointed the human natural state of mind, I tried to hold back tears then I said Thank you for your question, My Brother unfortunately for the human mind the answer is YESSS.
