“The company I work with ran out of jobs, and salaries were not paid for more than a year. Things were so bad; no accommodation, no food to eat and I was jobless. I kept looking up to the God of this Commission. However, God's servant kept saying that we should be diligent and consistent in seeking God's Kingdom first and things that people are dying to get would be added to us cheaply. Then, each time I prayed all I hear is, ‘Whatever He tells you to do, do it.’ Thereafter, I decided to engage in outreach, follow up my converts, and spend my time in praying for the Kingdom. I was mocked by friends, family members and colleagues. Miraculously, in the first week of my rigorous engagement, i got a call from my company that I have been posted out of the country to represent them on a project for about nine months and I was to leave immediately because all my travel documents had been prepared. I was shocked! When I got here, I was given an official car, a driver, aides, a beautiful house beside the beach, and mouth-watering allowances. Infact, for a year, I do not need to touch my salary. I just want to thank this God, who is not a user of men!”

OCCUPY TILL JESUS COMES

Text: Luke 19:11–13

«“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” — Luke 19:13 (KJV)»

INTRODUCTION

To occupy means to take possession of, engage, or conduct business in a particular territory.

An occupier does not become like the land he occupies. Rather, the occupier seeks to influence and transform the territory according to the values and culture of his mother country.

This gives us a powerful picture of the Christian life.

We are in this world, but we are not of this world. We have been sent by Christ to occupy, influence, and transform our world according to the values of the Kingdom of God.

Jesus said:

«“Occupy till I come.” — Luke 19:13»

The command was given to all the servants. None was exempted.

This means that every child of God has a kingdom assignment.

We are not saved merely to sit down and wait for heaven. We are saved to serve God's purpose, advance His Kingdom, and make our lives count for Christ until He returns.

1. THE COMMAND TO OCCUPY IS A COMMAND TO EVERY BELIEVER

In Luke 19:13, the nobleman gave his servants resources and commanded them:

“Occupy till I come.”

The command was not given to some servants and withheld from others.

None was exempted.

Every believer has a responsibility in the Kingdom.

You may not have the same assignment as another person, but you have an assignment.

You may not have the same capacity, platform, resources, or opportunity, but you have something entrusted to you by God.

Therefore, the question is not:

“What has God given somebody else?”

The question is:

“What am I doing with what God has placed in my hands?”

2. ARE YOU OCCUPIED OR VACANT?

Consider the word “occupied.”

When you enter an airplane restroom, you may see a sign that says “Occupied” when someone is inside.

When nobody is using it, the sign reads “Vacant.”

This gives us a spiritual question:

Christian, are you occupied for the Master or vacant?

Are you busy with kingdom business, or have you become spiritually idle?

There are believers who are physically alive but spiritually vacant.

Spiritual vacancy can be characterized by:

- Idle chatter
- Gossip
- Prayerlessness
- Lustful daydreaming
- Self-pity
- Spiritual indifference
- Lack of commitment to God's work
- Neglect of one's spiritual gifts
- Living primarily for worldly pursuits

One Christian writer warned:

«“Beware of an idle, talking, gossiping, sentimental, do-nothing religion.”»

God has not called us to a do-nothing Christianity.

We have been called to occupy.

3. WE ARE TO BE OCCUPIED PRACTICALLY

The first important lesson from Luke 19:13 is:

We should be occupied practically.

The master gave his servants something to do.

He did not merely say, “Wait for me.”

He said:

“Do business till I come.”

The Kingdom of God requires practical engagement.

Faith must produce action.

We must therefore ask:

- What am I doing for God's Kingdom?
- What gift has God placed in me?
- Who am I reaching for Christ?
- What kingdom assignment am I pursuing?
- How am I using my time for God's glory?
- What am I doing with the opportunities God has given me?

Christianity is not merely about what we believe; it is also about what we do with what we believe.

4. GOD PROVIDES RESOURCES FOR EVERY DIVINE ASSIGNMENT

Notice that the master did not command his servants to do business without giving them resources.

The KJV says he gave them “ten pounds.”

The NKJV refers to them as minas.

A mina represented substantial financial value—approximately three months' wages.

The principle is clear:

God does not give an assignment without making provision for its accomplishment.

When God sends a person, He equips that person.

When God gives an assignment, He provides the grace and resources necessary to pursue it.

Paul asked:

«“Who ever goes to war at his own expense?” — 1 Corinthians 9:7»

God does not expect us to accomplish His purposes solely by human strength.

He provides:

- Grace
- Faith
- Wisdom
- Spiritual gifts
- Opportunities
- Strength
- People
- Resources
- Divine direction

Therefore, don't focus only on what you lack.

Look at what God has already placed in your hands.

Your responsibility is to faithfully deploy what you have received.

5. FAITH IN A GREAT GOD

Hudson Taylor, the founder of the China Inland Mission, expressed a profound principle concerning faith:

«“It is not great faith you need, but faith in a great God.”»

This is important because sometimes we look at the magnitude of God's assignment and become intimidated.

But the issue is not the greatness of the assignment.

The issue is the greatness of the God who gave the assignment.

We need faith that rests upon God's character and His promises.

Our confidence is not in our ability; our confidence is in God's ability.

God is faithful to His Word.

If He commands us to occupy, He will provide grace to occupy.

If He gives us an assignment, He will give us strength to pursue it.

If He opens a door, He will provide what is necessary to walk through it.

6. OCCUPY UNTIL JESUS COMES

Jesus did not say:

“Occupy until you become tired.”

He did not say:

“Occupy until people appreciate you.”

He did not say:

“Occupy until there are no challenges.”

He said:

“Occupy till I come.”

Our assignment continues until His return.

Therefore:

Don't stop serving.

Don't stop praying.

Don't stop witnessing.

Don't stop giving.

Don't stop winning souls.

Don't stop advancing the Kingdom.

Don't bury your gift.

Don't waste your opportunity.

Don't become spiritually vacant.

Keep occupying!

Code M6-33 IS A SURE KEY TO UNLOCKING THE SUPERNATURAL!

‘In 2020, pressing desires which seemed unachievable by all human standards. During the 21-day prayer and fasting, while I never prayed about them, I engaged vigorously in kingdom advancement prayer. During the lockdown, I opened my house for Fellowship, and pay transportation seed to my zone to ensure new coverts get to church. Then God showed up! I got a job offer from the State, and the remuneration and entitlements are far more than my entire 13 years of service at my previous job.
However, the devil struck, and my hiring process was stopped. I was not bothered as I continued in my Kingdom advancement engagements. During the impartation Service, I was so charged up and intoxicated with power. Immediately after the service, I struck the print out of my job and shouted, “God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Bishop David Oyedepo, show Yourself!” I never repeat that statement twice. Lo and behold, on 25th January, 2021, I received a call from the State. I was told to come for an interview the following day. I did, and thirty minutes after the interview, I received a mail stating my excellent performance, and I was given the job also I got my green card approved with the speed of light. Indeed, code M6-33 is my lifetime access code and Identity! To God alone be all the glory!’

SS TURNS AA VIA Fleet WASHING!

‘My genotype had been a big challenge to me, and all the suitors that came my way turned me down because I was a sickle cell carrier. However, during the 21-day prayer and fasting, I presented my case to God on the altar of prayer for a permanent change of genotype. However, on Friday 22nd of January, after my feet were washed, while Bishop David Oyedepo made declarations, he said that SS would turn AA, and I shouted, “Amen!” Thereafter, he instructed us to go back for a test, and have our turn around testimony. The next day, after praying Kingdom advancement prayer, I had the urge to go for the test, and I did. Lo and behold, my genotype turned AA. I return all the glory to God!’

But God must meet us on duty to deliver our rewards.
