Theme: "FOOTPRINT"

The Akwa Ibom State Council for Arts and Culture (Fine & Applied Arts Department), in collaboration with the Benevolent Care and Support Initiative (R), proudly invites artists to participate in the Akwa Ibom @ 39 Art Competition 2026.
This competition celebrates 39 years of Akwa Ibom State through creative expression, showcasing our history, culture, heritage, achievements, environment, people, and aspirations for the future.

Who Can Apply?

The competition is open to: 🎨 Professional Artists
🎨 Emerging Artists
🎨 Art Students
🎨 Talented Young Creatives

Entry Requirements

Applicants should submit
✅ Completed Entry Form
✅ Three (3) high-quality photographs of previous artworks (PDF format)
✅ A brief artist biography (maximum 300 words), including:
Artistic background
Artist statement
Exhibition history (if applicable) ✅ A valid means of identification
✅ Proof of payment of the ₦5,000 (non-refundable) entry fee

Artwork Specifications

Free style
Original artworks only (must not have won any previous competition).
Medium: Painting
Maximum canvas size: 8 × 8 inches
Artwork must be professionally stretched and ready for exhibition.
Clearly write the artist's name, artwork title, medium, dimensions, and theme on the back of the artwork.
Artworks should be unframed, unless otherwise approved by the organizers.

By submitting an entry, participants agree to the competition rules. The Benevolent Care and Support Initiative (BCSI) in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Council for Arts and Culture proudly presents the 2026 Children’s Art and Culture Summit — a gathering dedicated to nurturing creativity, preserving heritage, and empowering the next generation through arts and culture.
