💜 WORLD PURPLE DAY 💜
Raising Awareness for Epilepsy

Today, we stand in support of millions of people around the world living with epilepsy; a neurological condition that is often misunderstood, yet very real.

Epilepsy is not a curse.
It is not contagious.
It is not a limitation to living a full life.

What many people living with epilepsy need most is not pity—but understanding, inclusion, and support.

✨ Did you know?
• Epilepsy affects over 50 million people globally
• With proper treatment, many people can live seizure-free
• Simple first aid knowledge can save lives during a seizure

🟣 What you can do:
✔ Learn basic seizure first aid
✔ Speak up against stigma and discrimination
✔ Show kindness and patience
✔ Wear purple to show your support

Let’s build a society where no one feels ashamed of their condition.

💜 Together, we can create awareness, break the stigma, and support every voice.

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women all around the world on International Women’s Day. At Osaro Epilepsy Support Center, we take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible women living with epilepsy, the caregivers who support them, and the advocates who continue to raise awareness and fight stigma.

Women with epilepsy often face unique challenges, yet they continue to show remarkable courage, determination, and strength in their daily lives. Their stories remind us that epilepsy does not define a woman’s potential, dreams, or ability to lead, inspire, and succeed.

Today, we celebrate every woman who continues to rise above challenges, support others, and create positive change in their communities. Your strength inspires hope, and your voice helps build a more inclusive and understanding world.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing women out there. Together, we continue to promote awareness, support, and empowerment. 💜✨

In commemoration of International Epilepsy Day, our team visited Benson Idahosa Christian Academy to deliver an epilepsy sensitization and awareness session aimed at promoting understanding, safety, and inclusion.

The session focused on:
• What epilepsy is and what it is not
• Common myths and misconceptions surrounding epilepsy
• Basic first-aid response during a seizure
• How empathy, knowledge, and inclusion can save lives

Through interactive discussions, students and staff were educated on the importance of responding with calmness, compassion, and informed action when supporting individuals living with epilepsy. Sensitization initiatives like this play a critical role in reducing stigma and fostering safer, more inclusive school environments.

We appreciate the warm reception from the school community and remain committed to advancing epilepsy awareness through education, advocacy, and community engagement.

Together, we can build a society where people living with epilepsy are understood, supported, and empowered.
