TLMI PRESIDENT CHALLENGES PUBLIC LEADERS TO EMBRACE VISIONARY LEADERSHIP
YOLA, ADAMAWA STATE — August 30, 2026: The President of the Thinkers Leadership Mentoring Initiative (TLMI), Sir Aaron Zebedee has called on political and public-sector leaders to embrace visionary leadership as a pathway to achieving excellence in governance and sustainable development.
The TLMI President made the call while delivering the keynote address at the Legislative Sunday held at the Government House Chapel, Yola, on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Speaking on the theme, “The Role of Vision in Leadership Excellence Development,” the keynote speaker stressed that effective leadership goes beyond occupying positions of authority, emphasizing the need for leaders to have a clear sense of purpose, a compelling vision, and the commitment to turn that vision into tangible outcomes for the people.
The address challenged leaders to think beyond immediate political considerations and focus on building institutions, developing people, and creating lasting solutions that will benefit present and future generations.
The Legislative Sunday attracted an array of political and government leaders, including the Deputy Governor, Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, Members of the State House of Assembly, Executive Chairmen of Local Government Areas, Councillors, and other government appointees.
The gathering provided a platform for reflection on the responsibilities of public leadership and the importance of vision, integrity, strategic thinking, and purposeful service in building a better society.
The TLMI President further reaffirmed the Initiative’s commitment to mentoring emerging leaders, promoting leadership excellence, and nurturing a generation of visionary and responsible leaders capable of driving positive transformation.
The event underscored a fundamental message: that at the centre of leadership is the people and leaders must be credible, accessible and accountable.
Without vision risks losing direction, while visionary leadership has the power to inspire people, transform institutions, and shape the future.
Gratitude always to the Chaplain, Government House Chapel, Amb Bernard Kaigama and his amazing Team for the great honour.
With Love & Respect,
Joshua Yohanna
