APC NGOs and Support Groups Bayelsa State Debunk False Reports — Dr. Samuel Ogbuku Not Under Arrest

The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) NGOs and Support Groups Bayelsa State has been drawn to false and misleading reports circulating on social media and certain online platforms alleging that the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, is under arrest in connection with a purported coup attempt in Nigeria.

We wish to state categorically that these claims are entirely untrue, baseless, and maliciously fabricated to mislead the public and tarnish the hard-earned reputation of Dr. Ogbuku. At no time has Dr. Samuel Ogbuku been arrested, detained by any security agency over any such matter. He continues to diligently discharge his official duties as the MD/CEO of the NDDC in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The APC NGOs and Support Groups Bayelsa State strongly condemn the deliberate spread of fake news aimed at creating confusion, discrediting public officials, and undermining national stability. We call on members of the public to disregard these unfounded rumours and rely solely on verified information from credible and official sources.

We also urge media practitioners to uphold the ethics of responsible journalism by verifying information before publication to avoid causing unnecessary public anxiety or reputational harm.

Dr. Ogbuku remains a committed public servant, focused on delivering sustainable development and empowerment initiatives for the people of the Niger Delta region.

🇳🇬 Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! 🇳🇬

October 1st, 1960 – October 1st, 2025

Today, we join millions of Nigerians at home and abroad in celebrating 65 years of independence, resilience, and unity.

At National Democratic Youth Network (NDYN), we believe that true independence is not just political—it’s social, economic, and inclusive. As we commemorate this historic day, we reflect on how far our nation has come and renew our commitment to building a more just, empowered, and equitable Nigeria for all.

🇳🇬 Our Independence, Our Responsibility 🇳🇬

While we honour the heroes of our past who fought for freedom, we must also rise to the challenges of the present—poverty, inequality, poor access to education and healthcare, environmental issues, and youth unemployment.

As an organization dedicated to the sustenance of democracy in our country, we see every Nigerian—young or old, rural or urban—as a part of the solution. Together, we can build a Nigeria where:
1. Every child has access to quality education.
2. Every voice is heard and valued.
3) Health and dignity are not a privilege but a right.
4) Communities thrive, not just survive.

A Call to Action

This Independence Day, let’s go beyond celebration. Let’s choose service. Let’s commit to peace, progress, and purpose. Whether you’re a student, a leader, a worker, or a changemaker—Nigeria needs you.

Let’s rise—not just for ourselves, but for generations to come.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.
Stronger together. Brighter ahead.

National Democratic Youth Network.

National Coordinator and Chairman of NGOs and Support Groups Engr Peter Egbainmo Attends APC Bayelsa Stakeholders Meeting, Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Endorsement

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State – 09/09/2025 — The National Coordinator and Chairman of NGOs and Support Groups affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in attendance at the 12th Extended Stakeholders Meeting of the APC Bayelsa State Chapter, a strategic gathering convened to reaffirm unity within the party and consolidate support for the second-term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.

The high-level meeting, held in Yenagoa, brought together party leaders, elected officials, support group leaders, and grassroots mobilizers. At the heart of the agenda was the unanimous endorsement of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the sole candidate of the APC for the 2027 presidential election — a decision widely supported by stakeholders in attendance.

In his remarks, the National Coordinator and Chairman of the NGOs and Support Groups praised the leadership of the Bayelsa APC for their vision, coordination, and loyalty to the party’s national objectives. He reiterated the readiness of all affiliated NGOs and support groups to align with the endorsement and mobilize nationwide support for President Tinubu’s re-election.

“President Tinubu has demonstrated transformational leadership, courage in governance, and a deep commitment to the Nigerian project. This endorsement is not just timely but necessary to sustain the reforms and progress initiated under his administration,” he stated.

He also emphasized the role of NGOs and support groups as the engine room of grassroots mobilization, adding that the journey to 2027 has already begun, and the coalition will intensify efforts to ensure unity, inclusiveness, and electoral victory for the APC at all levels.

The meeting concluded with a strong message of cohesion and resolve among party members in Bayelsa State, signaling a renewed energy in preparation for future political engagement.

Nigeria associates with what I have heard at BRICS here in Rio, Brazil. The next issues are financial restructuring and reevaluation of the global structure.

BRICS must not only be a bloc for emerging economies but also a beacon for emerging solutions rooted in solidarity, self-reliance, sustainability, and shared prosperity.

We must be the architects of a future that addresses the specific needs and concerns of youths, who represent 70% of Nigeria's population.

I also took the opportunity to remind fellow leaders that Nigeria is not a passive participant in global affairs. We are taking bold, homegrown steps to accelerate renewable energy, mainstream climate action, strengthen urban resilience, and expand healthcare access.

The world is changing. Nigeria will not be left behind. We will help lead the way.

WE'RE REMOVING ALL BOTTLENECKS TO IMPROVE FOOD AND AGRIC PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA, SAYS PRESIDENT TINUBU TO BRAZILIAN LEADER

President Bola Tinubu has assured that all bottlenecks hindering the realisation of the agricultural sector's potential, including livestock production, will be removed to enable food sovereignty and export.

In a bilateral meeting held at the Copacabana Forte with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva and some members of both countries' cabinets, President Tinubu noted that bureaucracy contributes to delays in realising the agricultural sector's potential.

The President informed the Brazilian leader and delegation that Nigeria was already undergoing reforms to reposition the economy for global competitiveness, particularly in agriculture, where it already has a competitive advantage.

President Tinubu stated that all technicalities in agreements between the two countries will be streamlined and fast-tracked in trade, aviation, energy transition, food and agricultural development, mining, and natural resources exploration.

The President stated that Brazil's research and development services had been exemplary for most countries, with the country rated as one of the highest producers of food and agricultural products.

On livestock farming, President Tinubu highlighted the efforts of his administration to boost investments in poultry, cattle rearing, and fisheries, adding that the blue economy also holds potential for long-term partnerships between Nigeria and Brazil.

He said Nigeria was ready for a strong partnership and immediate action to stimulate food production.

The President said the subnationals have a pivotal role in food and animal production in Nigeria by complementing the federal government's efforts to use agriculture as a significant source of employment and resource mobilisation.

President Lula assured that all agreements with Nigeria would be regularised, and the MOUs would be updated and signed without delay during President Tinubu's next visit.

Da Silva noted that the lingering bureaucracy between the two countries must be removed to achieve quick results, adding that Brazil's research and development institutions will collaborate with Nigeria to enhance livestock farming.

The Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari, stated that President Tinubu had consistently insisted on food security for Nigeria, and the mandate would be actualised through local and global partnerships.

Kyari noted that Nigeria already had a competitive advantage in fertiliser production that could easily be enhanced.

The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, highlighted three areas of partnership with Brazil, including health and disease management, sanitary services, and research into genetic materials and new breeds.

The governors of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia; Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Niger State, Mohammed Umar Bago; Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori; and Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, attended the bilateral meeting.

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, stated that the sub-nationals would support the federal government's framework to revamp the agricultural sector.

Abiodun noted that both leaders' decision to include a business forum during President Tinubu's state visit to the country will inject fresh ideas and resources, enabling quick results in turning around Nigeria's agricultural sector.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mohammed Mohammed, also participated in the bilateral meeting.
