Chinagorom Fred Asonye, a Chartered Engineer (CEng), and a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers United Kingdom (IMechE). Member The Welding Institute, a leading engineering institution in the United Kingdom supporting Welding and Joining Professionals. And also a Registered Welding inspector (AWELD). Born into the family of Mr and Mrs Elijah Asonye in Umueledi village, Old Umuahia, Abia
State, Nigeria, and he is happily married. Chinagorom has previously worked with General Electric (GE) as a structural Engineer, and also with Shell Development Company Nigeria Ltd as a Piping Engineer, where he helped in executing so many successful projects Offshore and onshore. Additionally, he has also worked in several projects with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering as a Senior Piping Engineer. He also worked with Hyundai Offshore Engineering as a Senior Piping Engineer in several successful projects in Nigeria. in Mechanical Engineering with Enugu State University of Science and technology. And went on to gain an MSC qualification in Mechanical Engineering with London South Bank University in the United Kingdom, He is a resourceful individual who has worked with both local and international organizations all over the world, acquiring a broad range of expertise and skill-set contributing positively towards organizational and individual successes. He continues to be an active and effective part of a good and resourceful team. Chinagorom, has also served in different managerial capacity including serving as a member of a labour union where he helped to create and sustain a positive, peaceful and cordial relationship between workers and management. And above all, as a compassionate and competent leader of the union, he contributed in the negotiation of a good and sustainable worker’s salary structure which remains one of the best in the Niger Delta Area region of Nigeria till date. He is also a philanthropist who continues to assist the less privileged, widows and orphans in the community, from time to time he engages in different charity events in the community such as donating bags of different food stuffs such as rice, beans, food condiments in his native community through his Foundation EL-DIKA. Consequently, he has impacted positively in the lives of so many vulnerable youths in the area of providing scholarship schemes and opportunities, as well as training them in various trades and apprenticeship schemes. Chinagorom has continued to affect the lives of the youth positively through youth empowerment and job creation scheme. So many young people within his community are living testament and beneficiaries of his job creation and poverty enlightenment schemes. This scheme has helped to reshape the lives of people positively and has given these individuals an opportunity to serve the community positively in various capacities.
