The Almajiri system in Northern Nigeria seeks to enthrone an individual who is deemed fit to lord it over many others who are considered fit only to carry bowls and beg for alms and food.

This principle stalls development, perpetuates poverty and suffering, and creates a breeding ground for a ready army of terrorism and banditry. To concentrate power in one zone, or vest power in one family or individual for longer than necessary, is to practice the Almajiri political and economic system.

Those who have had their turn have served with honor. They should now allow others to raise their heads.. For our land is full of capable hands.

*2027 DELTA CENTRAL: NO TO POWER* *HOARDING, NO TO POWER* *MONOPOLIZATION, NO TO PAROCHIALISM*

Delta Central Senatorial District is among the rare homogeneous Senatorial Districts in the South - South zone. We can only remain thankful to God Almighty for his blessings of human, material and political resources which abound in our land.

However, how we manage these abundant resources determines the quality of our life. We must therefore do the right things and in the right ways. No doubt, despite the fact that our land is full of resources, suffering with poverty is widespread among our people: Our women commonly headload concrete to survive, which is now a shame and stigma to the Urhobo nation. Our graduates and old men ply tricycles to exist. Our teenage girls degrade themselves at Enerhen junction to stay alive. This is as a result of insensitivity, indifference or ignorance in the tapping and management of our abundant resources.

Poverty reduces where inequality reduces. To reduce inequality, power must be redistributed. To RETAIN the Senate in Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency is power monopolization and parochialism which are tantamount to political exclusion of the rest of the Urhobos.To RETURN the Senate to Ughelli North is power hoarding and is tantamount to political exclusion of Ughelli South. Urhobo land is full of many qualified sons and daughters to occupy that office in 2027. Our fathers have served with honour. We now need new energy and jobs for Urhobo youths. The 2027 Delta Central Senatorial seat should therefore ROTATE to Ughelli South.

*REASONS THE 2027 DELTA CENTRAL SENATORIAL SEAT MUST ROTATE TO UGHELLI SOUTH*

*1. The M.O.R.E Agenda*
The 2nd cardinal pillar of Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori’s *M.O.R.E Agenda* is *OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL*, anchored on Equity, Fairness, and Inclusiveness. Returning the Senate to Ughelli North or retaining it in Okpe would amount to the political exclusion of Ughelli South.

*2. Poverty Eradication*
Poverty thrives where inequality is perpetuated. Power rotation drives wealth redistribution, bridges gaps, and reduces inequality across Delta Central.

*3. Present Delta Central Reality*
Ethiope Federal Constituency already enjoys legacy federal infrastructure. Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie currently holds the Governorship, the Senatorial seat, and a Ministerial position. Ughelli South has none of these.

*4. Underdevelopment*
Ughelli South and Udu are the most underdeveloped LGAs in Delta Central, with virtually no federal presence despite their huge contributions to the national coffers. Udu only just got a Federal Medical Centre.

*5. Adequate Replacement*
Our fathers have served with honour. Now is the time for new energy and opportunities for Urhobo youths.
Delta Central has a vibrant and capable replacement — a son born and raised in Warri, educated in the UK where he lived for over two decades, yet fluent in his mother tongue and deeply rooted in our values.
He feels the pain of his people with a clear plan. A development expert with a practical mindset; he is *not too old to kneel, not too young to fight*.

*Conclusion*
In the interest of justice, fairness, Urhobo unity, and progress, the Delta Central Senatorial seat must rotate to *Ughelli South* in 2027, irrespective of party lines.

*The Fair Position:*
For unity and progress of Urhobo land, *the 2027 Delta Central Senatorial seat should rotate to Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency.*

This rotation should also prevent power hoarding by individuals and cliques.
*Equity demands geographic spread and generational turnover.*

Make Urhobo Greater (M.U.G) Movement Backs ADC Senatorial Candidate, Benjamin Ewhrudjakpor ON THE 17TH OF JUNE, 2026.
In a landmark political development, the national leadership of the "Make Urhobo Greater" (M.U.G) movement, led by the National Coordinator Mr. George O. Eraware, paid an official courtesy visit to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Delta Central, Benjamin Ewhrudjakpor.

Marking the first formal engagement between the influential group and the senatorial hopeful, the meeting was defined by mutual respect and a shared vision for the Urhobo nation. In their opening remarks, the M.U.G delegation expressed deep gratitude to Ewhrudjakpor for his warm, transparent, and receptive welcome.

As the race for Delta Central Senatorial District gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Benjamin Ewhrudjakpor is positioning himself as the fresh, purpose-driven alternative — a “DIVINE DAVID” stepping forward with courage and conviction against the formidable political forces of Saul and Goliath.

In a political landscape long dominated by entrenched power structures and intimidating influence, Ewhrudjakpor represents the voice of renewal. Drawing inspiration from the timeless biblical account, he stands as the unlikely but divinely equipped champion who refuses to wear the heavy armor of the old order.
