He didn’t just hunt—he made history.

Meet the Crowned Eagle, Africa’s silent assassin. What you’re witnessing isn’t just a kill… it’s a message, etched in feathers and fear.

Deep in the rainforests of sub-Saharan Africa, this apex predator doesn’t waste time with small prey. No rats. No pigeons. He targets monkeys—big ones, quick ones, even mothers with babies still holding tight.

With talons that crush harder than a Rottweiler’s bite and eyes sharp enough to cut through jungle shadows, the Crowned Eagle descends like a whisper of death. One dive. One shriek. Then silence.

What’s left isn’t just lunch—it’s a warning. In the treetops, vervets and colobus monkeys change their paths, their patterns, their lives… all because of one shadow in the sky.

He doesn’t soar to show off—he soars to rule.

The Crowned Eagle. Naija’s winged king of the canopy.

A silverback gorilla is an adult male gorilla, typically over 12 years old, distinguished by the silver-gray hair on its back. This coloration is a sign of maturity and dominance. Silverbacks are the leaders of their gorilla groups (called troops), which usually include females, their young, and sometimes younger males.

Key Facts about Silverback Gorillas:

Species: There are two main species — the Eastern gorilla (Gorilla beringei) and the Western gorilla (Gorilla gorilla).

Habitat: Dense forests of Central and East Africa.

Diet: Mainly herbivorous — fruits, leaves, stems, and shoots.

Strength: Incredibly strong — up to 10 times stronger than an average human.

Behavior: Peaceful unless threatened; they use chest-beating, roars, or displays to assert dominance or defend the troop.
