PROMOTING UNITY AND FAIRNESS: AYA CONGRATULATES YAYI, ADVOCATES SENATORIAL SEAT ZONING TO AWORILAND

The leadership and entire members of the Awori Youth Association (AYA) heartily extend our warmest congratulations to Distinguished Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi on his emergence as the consensus gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

This remarkable feat is not only a testament to your political sagacity, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service, but also a reflection of the confidence reposed in your leadership by stakeholders across the state. Your emergence through consensus further demonstrates the maturity, unity, and progressive spirit within the APC, setting a commendable standard for democratic engagement and internal cohesion.

As a youth-driven organization representing the collective aspirations of Awori sons and daughters, we acknowledge this milestone as a significant step toward the continued development and stability of Ogun State. We are optimistic that your candidacy will usher in a new era of inclusive governance, equitable development, and purposeful leadership that will benefit all regions of the state.

However, while we celebrate this achievement, we respectfully and passionately call the attention of the leadership of the APC to the imperative of equity, fairness, and balanced representation in the distribution of other key political positions particularly the Ogun West Senatorial seat.

Given that Yewa axis has produced the consensus gubernatorial candidate, we strongly advocate that the Senatorial ticket be justly zoned to Aworiland. This is not only a matter of political fairness but also a necessary step toward fostering unity, inclusiveness, and a sense of belonging among all constituent groups within Ogun West. The Awori people have consistently demonstrated loyalty, commitment, and active participation in the growth of the party and the state at large. It is therefore both reasonable and equitable that such loyalty be reciprocated through fair political representation.

Furthermore, we commend the party for the peaceful and amicable process that led to the emergence of the gubernatorial candidate. We urge the APC leadership to sustain this commendable approach in resolving all outstanding issues concerning other elective positions. Dialogue, mutual respect, and consensus-building must continue to guide the process, as these are essential ingredients for lasting unity and electoral success.

We strongly advise that all party stakeholders avoid actions or decisions that could trigger disaffection, division, or violence. The strength of any political party lies in its unity, and only through peaceful engagement can the APC maintain its dominance and credibility in Ogun State.

In conclusion, the Awori Youth Association (AYA) reaffirms its commitment to the ideals of justice, equity, and peaceful coexistence. We remain confident that the leadership of the APC will do the needful by ensuring fair zoning of the Senatorial seat to Aworiland and by managing all political interests in a manner that promotes harmony and collective progress.

Once again, we congratulate Distinguished Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi and wish him great success in the journey ahead.

GOODWILL MESSAGE ON THE COMMENCEMENT OF RAMADAN AND LENT

By the Awori Youth Association (AYA)

Today marks a significant and deeply spiritual moment as our Muslim and Christian faithful commence their respective fasting seasons, for our Muslim brothers and sisters, the holy month of Ramadan, and for our Christian brethren, the sacred season of Lent. That both seasons begin on the same day is a powerful reminder that, though our paths of worship may differ, our shared values of faith, sacrifice, love, discipline, and devotion unite us as one people.

On behalf of the leadership and all members of the *Awori Youth Association (AYA),* We extend warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to all our Muslim and Christian members at home and in the diaspora as you embark on this sacred journey of fasting and prayer.
Ramadan and Lent are seasons of deep reflection, spiritual renewal, self-denial, charity, forgiveness, and total submission to the will of Almighty God.

The call to purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, uplift the needy, reconcile with one another, and recommit ourselves to righteousness and service to humanity. These values resonate strongly with the core principles of Awori heritage, unity, communal love, respect for elders, integrity, and collective progress.

The coincidence of these two holy observances, which begin on the same day, carries profound significance for us as Awori youths. It symbolises harmony in diversity and reinforces the truth that our strength lies not in uniformity of religion, but in unity of purpose. It reminds us that whether Muslim or Christian, we kneel before the same Almighty Creator, seek the same peace, and desire the same prosperity for our land and our people.

As we fast and pray, may this sacred period renew our commitment to peaceful coexistence in Aworiland. May it strengthen the bond of brotherhood and sisterhood among our youths. May it deepen mutual understanding and tolerance, and silence every voice of division.

We particularly pray that:
Almighty God grants all our Muslim members the strength, good health, and spiritual fulfilment to complete the Ramadan fast successfully, and accept their prayers, supplications, and acts of charity.
Almighty God grants our Christian members divine grace, endurance, and spiritual upliftment throughout the Lenten season, and crowns their sacrifices with abundant blessings.

May this dual season of devotion usher in:
Greater unity and progress for the Awori Youth Association (AYA).
Sustainable development, peace, and prosperity in Aworiland.

Continued growth and harmony in Lagos and Ogun States.

Lasting peace, economic stability, and national rebirth for Nigeria.

As we deny ourselves physically, may we be filled spiritually. As we sacrifice, may our land experience divine restoration.

As we pray individually, may our collective prayers rise for the transformation of our communities and our nation.

Let us use this sacred season to recommit ourselves to purposeful leadership, youth empowerment, community development, and the preservation of Awori values and identity.

May the Almighty accept our fasting, hear our prayers, forgive our shortcomings, and bless Aworiland abundantly.

Ramadan Kareem.
Happy Lenten Season.

Signed,

The Leadership of Awori Youth Association (AYA)
