International Human Rights Day: Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now!
PAAAVARF proudly joined the global community in marking International Human Rights Day with a powerful awareness walk to sensitize the populace on their fundamental rights. The walk was not just a movement through the streets—it was a movement for justice, equality, and dignity for all.
Our journey ended at the Plateau State Secretariat, where stakeholders, advocates, and enforcers of justice gathered for an insightful discussion on this year’s theme: "Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now!"
We were honored to have the Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs, the Human Rights Commission, NSCDC, the Police, and other key stakeholders present, all reinforcing the urgent need to protect and promote human rights at all levels.

🔹 Human rights are not a privilege—they are a birthright.
🔹 Justice delayed is justice denied.
🔹 We must all unite to defend and uphold the dignity of every individual.

This should be a reminder that human rights work is never finished until every voice is heard, every right is respected, and every life is valued. The fight for justice does not end here—it continues every day!

Day 15 of 16 Days of Activism: Widows’ Rights & The Girl Child’s Right to Inheritance!

For too long, society has robbed widows and daughters of their rightful inheritance. A woman loses her husband, and suddenly, she is left with nothing. A daughter is denied her father’s property simply because she is female. Why should gender determine who has access to what is rightfully theirs?

🛑 Widowhood is not a curse.
🛑 Daughters are not second-class heirs.
🛑 Culture must not override justice!

Widows deserve protection. Daughters deserve equality. Every woman—married or not—has the right to inherit property, secure her future, and live with dignity. Let’s break the chains of injustice and stand for women’s property rights!

Day 12 of 16 Days of Activism: Time to Walk the Talk!
We've raised our voices. We've shared our stories. We've called for change. But advocacy doesn't end with words—it demands action.

Day 12 is a call to walk the talk. Enough of the discussions; it's time to implement policies, enforce laws, protect survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable. Every promise made must be backed by real commitment.
What are you doing today to make a difference? Are you mentoring a girl? Supporting a survivor? Challenging harmful norms? Funding a cause? Real activism is action-driven!

Let’s move beyond awareness—let’s make impact!

Day 11: Ending Girl Child Marriage – A Call to Action

Every girl deserves a childhood filled with dreams, education, and freedom—not a wedding veil. Child marriage robs girls of their future, trapping them in cycles of poverty and abuse.
We must raise our voices and break the chains of this harmful practice. Education is the key. Empowerment is the solution. Let’s stand united for a world where every girl chooses her own path.
It's time to protect, nurture, and uplift our girls.
💪🏼Let’s fight for their right to dream, learn, and thrive!
Let's make a difference. Join the movement!!

Day 10 of 16 Days of Activism: Take Action Against Child Labour!

Child labour is a global crisis stealing the dreams and futures of millions of children. Every day, these children toil in fields, factories, and homes, missing out on the education and freedom they deserve. This is not just unfair; it’s unacceptable.
Imagine a world where children are forced to carry heavy loads instead of schoolbags, where they face danger instead of learning and laughter. This is the grim reality for over 160 million children worldwide. Poverty, exploitation, and lack of awareness keep this cruel practice alive—but together, we can end it!
Take action today. Speak up for stronger child protection laws. Demand accountability from businesses to ensure child labour-free supply chains. Support families by advocating for free education and community empowerment programs. Donate to or partner with organizations fighting for children’s rights.
Most importantly, don’t stay silent. Each time we raise our voices, we take a step closer to freeing children from the chains of exploitation.
A child’s place is in school, not at work. Join us in this fight. We can break the cycle of child labour and give every child the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream.

🌍 Day 9: 16 Days of Activism
Today, we confront the growing threat of Gender-Based violence (GBV) in Cyberspace—a silent epidemic that ruins lives behind screens, fueled by power, coercion, and control.

A teenager posts her thoughts on gender equality, only to face relentless bullying. Anonymous accounts flood her inbox with threats. She withdraws, her voice silenced by cyber violence, a victim of those who hide behind screens.

The leaked s*x tapes involving Equatorial Guinea’s President’s nephew reveal another disturbing truth. The women involved had their faces exposed, their dignity shattered. Was it truly consensual? Or was there subtle coercion, fear, or pressure lurking beneath the surface? Why do we blame the women and excuse the men?

A girl's private photos are stolen and used to extort money from her. The perpetrator threatens to share intimate images unless she pays up, leaving her in a state of constant fear. This form of s*xtortion is a growing issue, where privacy is weaponized for profit, and victims are often blamed or shamed.
In the digital world, coercion often hides in plain sight. Consent under pressure is not consent—it’s compliance born of fear. Yet, society rushes to shame the women while leaving men unscathed.
This is the reality of cyber GBV: silent, relentless, and devastating. It’s time to reclaim the digital space.

What can you do?
1️⃣ Report abuse immediately. Silence empowers the abuser.
2️⃣ Support victims with empathy, not judgment.
3️⃣ Demand accountability. Advocate for digital safeguards and justice.

The internet must be a tool for empowerment, not humiliation. Unite, let’s break the cycle and make the digital space safe for all, regardless of gender💻✨
