MINUTE/REPORT OF COURTESY VISITS BY MOI ABALI MEMORIAL PRIMARY SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (MAMPSAA)
The Moi Abali Memorial Primary School Alumni Association (MAMPSAA), Potiskum, on Thursday, 30th April 2026, embarked on a courtesy visit to various governmental and non-governmental organisations, as well as notable personalities in Damaturu, Yobe State. The visit was aimed at strengthening relationships, seeking collaboration, and presenting patronship appointments to distinguished personalities.
The delegation comprised: Arch. Abdullahi Maina (President), Bala Mohammed Iyam (Vice President), Sadiq Alhaji Mohammed (Assistant Secretary General), Mahmuda Baba Abare (Headmaster), Fatima Muhammad Abubakar (Asst. Headteacher)Muktari Mohammed (Financial Secretary), Hauwa Adamu Iyam (Treasurer), Yahaya Umar Muhammad (Media & Publicity Secretary), Dauda Aliyu Gimba (Assistant Media & Publicity Secretary), Mohammed Suleiman Bomoi (Cika Soron Fika), Liman Alkali

The first visit was to Save the Children International (SCI) at about 10:30 a.m., where the association was received by staff members led by Mr Iliya Joseph, Project Manager. A meeting commenced shortly after with an opening prayer offered by the President, Arch. Abdullahi Maina. During the meeting, the Headmaster, Mahmuda Baba Abare, highlighted the importance of collaboration and possible partnership between both organisations. The President also gave a brief history of the association, its activities, mission, and vision, and presented two official letters to SCI. The first letter contained a request for capacity-building workshops for teachers, while the second detailed the association’s Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration and schedule of activities.
In his remarks, Bala Mohammed Iyam emphasised the urgent need for teachers’ capacity-building programs and support for volunteer teachers while commending SCI for its contributions to educational development. Responding on behalf of SCI, members of staff appreciated the efforts of MAMPSAA and promised to consider the request positively. Mr Iliya Joseph described the visit as unique and commendable, noting that it was the first time a primary school alumni association had paid such a visit in the state. He assured the association of future collaboration and support. The meeting ended with prayers led by Mr Iliya Joseph, after which both organisations took a group photograph around 11:45 a.m.
The association thereafter proceeded to the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) office for a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman. The delegation arrived at about 12:00 p.m. and was received around 12:30 p.m. The meeting opened with prayers led by Sadiq Alhaji Mohammed, after which members introduced themselves individually. Arch. Abdullahi Maina briefed the Executive Chairman on the history, struggles, activities, mission, and vision of MAMPSAA. He also highlighted the need for employment opportunities for volunteer teachers and presented two letters: one containing the association’s registration details and activities, and another appointing the Executive Chairman as a Patron of MAMPSAA.
In his remarks, the Headmaster appreciated the support and leadership of the Executive Chairman, particularly for the construction of toilet facilities in the school. The meeting concluded with prayers and a group photograph with the Chairman.
The delegation also visited the Director of Human Resource Management, Hajiya Hauwa, who was unfortunately attending another official meeting. Her appointment letter as Patron of MAMPSAA was therefore handed over to her Deputy Director, who appreciated the gesture on her behalf. Similarly, the association paid a courtesy visit to the Head of the Civil Service of Yobe State, who was out of town at the time. His appointment letter as Patron of MAMPSAA was submitted through his Personal Assistant for onward delivery.
Furthermore, the association visited the General Manager of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Babanyawo (Liman), at about 1:20 p.m. The meeting commenced with prayers and self-introductions by members of the delegation. The President briefed the General Manager on the association’s history, challenges, activities, mission, and vision before presenting him with letters introducing the association and appointing him as a Patron of MAMPSAA.
In his response, the General Manager appreciated the association for the visit and expressed his happiness and continued commitment toward supporting Moi Abali Memorial Primary School, Kara, Potiskum. As a gesture of generosity and encouragement, he donated the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000) for refreshments. The meeting ended with prayers and a group photograph outside his office.
The delegation departed Damaturu at about 1:50 p.m. and arrived safely in Potiskum around 3:30 p.m.
In continuation of its efforts toward strengthening relationships with educational stakeholders, MAMPSAA also paid a courtesy visit to the Education Secretary, Potiskum LGEA, on Tuesday, 5th May 2026. During the visit, the President, EXCO members, and some Alumni representatives formally presented a Patronship Appointment Letter to the Education Secretary in recognition of his support and contributions toward educational development. The association also discussed areas of collaboration and appealed for continued support toward the growth and development of Moi Abali Memorial Primary School and its alumni initiatives. The Education Secretary appreciated the visit, commended the association for its unity and commitment, and assured the delegation of his continued support and cooperation.
