Some people lead institutions.
Some people build lives.
We celebrated a woman who has done both tirelessly and selflessly over the years.
Our Executive Director has been more than a leader to us. She has been a voice for children with disabilities, a source of hope to families, a mentor to staff, and a bridge of inclusion within our community and state. Through her advocacy and relentless work, schools, churches, and communities are gradually changing their perspective on disability and learning that every child deserves love, dignity, opportunity, and inclusion.
Many of us on this team have had our outlook on life transformed simply by coming in contact with her vision, sacrifices, compassion, and commitment to humanity.
So while she planned to have a quiet birthday with the children, we knew she deserved to be celebrated loudly. Our parents, staff, pupils, and school family came together to surprise her with love, gifts, prayers, décor, laughter, and heartfelt words of appreciation.
Truthfully, if we had even greater resources, we would have done so much more because celebrating a woman who has poured herself endlessly into others can never truly be enough.
Thank you for teaching us that inclusion is not pity; it is love in action.
Thank you for showing us that every child matters.
Thank you for carrying people’s burdens with grace and strength.
Happy Birthday to our Executive Director, our advocate, our teacher, and our inspiration.
May the seeds you have planted across families, children, staff, schools, and communities continue to blossom for generations to come. ❤️
