The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Port Harcourt Branch, formally inaugurated *Engr. Belema Fubara Ekine, FNSE, FNICE* *as the 23rd Chairman of the Branch*, alongside other principal officers.
This historic event was held on Saturday, 31st January 2026, at the Engr. Ismael A. Banigo Secretariat, Water Works Yard, No. 3 Bernard Carr Street, behind Rivers State Library, Port Harcourt.
The Inauguration was a remarkable success, conducted with dignity and grandeur, drawing the presence of top government officials, members of the academia, industry leaders, senior professional colleagues and other distinguished guests from across the country, all of whom gathered to witness and celebrate this significant milestone in the continued growth and excellence of the branch.

*EVENING OF TRIBUTE IN HONOUR OF OUR LATE MOST VALUABLE ENGINEER, ENG. YOUPELE ORUKALAMA BEREDUGO*

Venue: Engr. Y. O. Beredugo Hall, Engr. Ismael A. Banigo Secretariat, Water Works Yard, No. 3 Bernard Carr Street, Behind Rivers State Library, Port Harcourt
Date: Wednesday, 4th February 2026.

With profound solemnity and deep reverence, we assembled this evening to celebrate the life, service, and enduring legacy of *Engr. Youpele Orukalama Beredugo, OFR, FNSE, FNICE, FAEng, KSC, widely recognized as the Most Valuable Engineer in Nigeria.*

He was a distinguished fellow of the profession, an exemplary leader, an inspiring mentor, and a steadfast pillar of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Port Harcourt Branch.
Engr. Beredugo was not only a formidable figure in the engineering community but also one of the foundational architects of our Branch. His unwavering commitment to engineering excellence, professional integrity, and human capacity development established a benchmark that continues to shape and elevate the standards of our profession.
As we reflect on his remarkable journey, we honour a life marked by purpose, compassion, discipline, and selfless service. His contributions transcended projects and positions, leaving an indelible imprint on the growth of the Society, the advancement of engineering practice, and the many lives he guided and inspired.
This evening of tribute is more than a memorial gathering. It is a moment of collective reflection and renewed commitment to the noble values he exemplified: integrity, humility, visionary leadership, and an enduring dedication to professional advancement and societal development.
Though he has departed from our sight, his legacy remains deeply woven into the fabric of our Branch and the broader engineering community.
