‎The 26th Okrika Company, attached to Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Igbiri-Ama, successfully held its 3rd consecutive Enrollment Ceremony.

‎The ceremony also featured the induction of three new patrons into the esteemed fold of patrons of the 26th Okrika Company. A total of 18 boys, 15 girls, and one officer were formally enrolled into the company.
‎
‎The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Godwill Abraham Jumbobaraye, Capt. NTO (Secretary of Council), who represented the Chairman of the Okrika Battalion Council, Hon. Justice Sobere Biambo JP. Also in attendance was Mr. Okuru Jonathan, ANTO (Chairman, State Trainers Forum), who represented the State Secretary Organizer, Dr. Chukwudi Herbert Ebim, ANTO.

‎Mr. Tamunoiyowuna James Fuayefika, Vice Chairman, Interdenominational & Social Welfare, represented the State President, Barr. Golden Otonye Tamuno. The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of Amb. Francis Kalada (Former Secretary), alongside other distinguished honorary patrons.

‎The enrollment ceremony witnessed a remarkable turnout of Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers from the Okrika Battalion Council, who gathered to support and celebrate this significant milestone in the life of the company.
‎
‎As the 26th Okrika Company continues to strive toward its goals, it remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing the Kingdom of Christ through service, dedication, and the nurturing of young lives.

*10th Okrika Company, St. Matthew’s (Ang.) Church Ogbogbo, Enrolls New Leadership and Ushers in a New Chapter*

The 10th Okrika Company attached to St. Matthew’s (Ang.) Church, Ogbogbo, has successfully conducted its enrollment ceremony, marking a transition into a new chapter in the life of the company.

The occasion featured the enrollment of Miss Ned Charity Tamuno as the new Captain of the company, who will pilot its affairs. Also enrolled was Rev. Thomas David Igwa as Chaplain, serving as the spiritual head and father of the company. In addition, an Officer and Non-Commissioned Officers were formally enrolled into their respective ranks.

The company also welcomed two new patrons who were inducted into the fold of patrons of the 10th Okrika Company.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of Council, Sir Hon. Justice Sobere Biambo JP, who also represented the State President, Barr. Golden Otonye Tamuno. Other dignitaries present included Mr. Godwill Abraham Jumbobaraye Capt NTO (Secretary of Council); Mr. Okuru Jonathan ANTO (Chairman, State Trainers Forum), who represented the State Secretary Organizer, Dr. Chukwudi Herbert Ebim ANTO; Sir Tamunotonye Idikisimama (Vice Chairman, Project & Investment); Mr. Tamunoiyowuna James Fuayefika (Vice Chairman, Interdenominational & Social Welfare); Sir Iyoyo Fiberesima, JP ABH, Comr. Newton Isaac-Ininatima Levi (Chairman, Patrons Forum); Amb. Francis Kalada (Former Secretary), alongside other distinguished honorary patrons.

A major highlight of the event was the successful investment of Hon. Desmond Stephen Sunday into the fold of Honorary Patrons. The occasion also featured a special moment where he received awards from the State Council and his company, the 14th Okrika Company, in recognition of his contributions.

The ceremony recorded a significant turnout of Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers from the Okrika Battalion Council, who attended to honour the enrollment ceremony and also celebrate the Blessing of Marriage and Retirement from Service of Sir Tamunotonye Idikisimama.

Indeed, as we continue pressing towards the goal, we remain committed to advancing the Kingdom of Christ.

**Courtesy Visit to the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council on July 28, 2026**

The Okrika Battalion Council, led by Sir Hon. Justice Sobere Biambo, JP (Chairman of the Okrika Battalion Council), Mr. Godwill Abraham Jumbobaraye Capt NTO (Secretary of the Okrika Battalion Council), Sir Tamunotonye Idikisimama (Vice Chairman of the Okrika Battalion Council), Revd. Humble Asime Okpaku (State Prayer Coordinator), along with a host of Honorary Patrons, Officers, and Senior NCOs, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Council.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the 18-seater bus that the Chairman had promised to the Okrika Battalion Council. Additionally, the delegation sought to express their gratitude for his ongoing support of the Boys' Brigade through his Human Capability Development Program (Akuro Tobin Prosperity Pathway - TAPP), from which many Officers and NCOs have benefited.

This visit also served as a reminder that he remains our Grand Patron and emphasized the importance of his presence at our official events, which would significantly boost the morale of the boys.

In his response, the Chairman assured us that he would fulfill the promise he made and would review his schedule to ensure his availability for any official event. His commitment to supporting our initiatives was greatly appreciated by all in attendance.

THE OCTET OF DISTINCTION

The Okrika Battalion Council of The Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Rivers State Council, on Sunday, 31st May 2026, held a colourful and spiritually enriching Investiture of Council Honorary Patrons at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Abam-Ama, Okrika.

The historic service witnessed the investiture of Prof. (Chief) Isaac Zep-Obipi, Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, alongside seven other distinguished men and women of proven character, service, and societal impact, who were formally inducted as Honorary Patrons of the Okrika Battalion Council.

The event, aptly described as “The Octet of Distinction,” celebrated a remarkable group of personalities whose contributions to education, leadership, and the advancement of Christian values have earned them widespread respect and recognition.

The investiture service attracted an array of notable dignitaries from within and outside the Boys’ Brigade family. Leading the delegation of the Rivers State Council was the State President, Barr. Golden Tamuno. Also present was State Secretary-Organizer, Dr. Ebim Chukwudi, ANTO who performed the rites of investiture, officially conferring the honour upon the newly inducted patrons.

Adding spiritual significance to the occasion was the Bishop of Omoku Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Richard Okpara, DSSRS whose presence underscored the importance of faith-based leadership and service. Other prominent guests included the state Vice President Projects and investment, Sir Chief Raymond Elenwoke, ABH, the Vice President Interdenominational and social welfare, Dame Dr Loretta Enwezor, ABH and the State Chief Patron, Engr Ufajiri Egor, ABH amongst other dignitaries from the Rivers state university and Boys Brigade family, alongside Boys, officers, patrons and representatives from Rivers State University.

The ceremony served not only as a recognition of excellence but also as a call to deeper partnership in advancing the vision and mission of the Boys’ Brigade in Okrika and beyond. Through the investiture, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to engaging reputable leaders and professionals whose influence and experience will strengthen the work of the Brigade among young people.

As the newly invested patrons received the symbols of their investiture rites, the atmosphere was filled with gratitude, celebration. The event stands as another milestone in the history of the Okrika Battalion Council, reflecting its dedication to honouring service, fostering leadership, and advancing Christ’s Kingdom in line with the Brigade’s enduring ideals.

Indeed, “The Octet of Distinction” was more than an investiture, it was a celebration of excellence, service, and legacy.
