🩸 TODAY IS WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2026! 🩸

And just completed a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Outreach at Government Secondary School, Elekahia. We sat with our girls. We talked openly about periods because silence has never protected anyone.

🚫 Menstruation is NOT dirty.
🚫 Periods are NOT shameful.
✅ Menstruation is NATURAL. Hygiene is ESSENTIAL.

Our young girls deserve to:
💜 Stay in school during their periods
💜 Access safe, clean sanitary products
💜 Speak openly without fear or shame

This year’s theme: “Building a ” is a call to action for every parent, teacher, community leader, and young person.

📣 let's share this post. Talk about periods. Break the silence.

Happy International Workers’ Day from all of us at OYECDO!
On this day, we pause to honour the dignity of labour from the farmer to the engineer, the teacher to the volunteer, the parent to the community leader. Every act of work matters. Every contribution counts.
But we also want to say something important today: please rest.
Burnout is one of the silent crises affecting workers and young people across communities. The pressure to always be “on”,always producing, always performing is taking a toll.
Today is a reminder that your wellbeing is the foundation everything else is built on.
Rest. Reconnect with people you love. Do something that refills you.
And when you’re ready to channel your energy into something meaningful , a community that empowers youth, drives development, and creates lasting impact - is here.

A young worker shouldn’t have to choose between a paycheck and their safety. But every day, millions do.

Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work- April 28.
And we’re asking one question:
Who is standing up for Africa’s young workers?

We believe safe work is a right. And young people deserve to enter workplaces that protect them, value them, and help them thrive.
Here’s what stand for:
✅ Empowering youth with knowledge and skills
✅ Advocating for safer work environments across communities
✅ Building a network of changemakers across Nigeria and beyond
This World Safety Day, take a stand. Join a community that fights for youth, safety, and a better future.

At NOG Energy Week 2026, Prof. Chinedu Ogwus will speak on the theme “Enhancing operational efficiency in Nigeria oilfields through Robotics and Autonomous Systems.” This statement is more than a technical aspiration—it represents a turning point in Nigeria’s energy journey and a bold declaration of Africa’s role in global technological progress.

Nigeria’s oilfields have long been central to its economy, but they face challenges of inefficiency, safety risks, and environmental concerns. Robotics and autonomous systems offer solutions that can reshape this landscape.

Prof. Ogwus’ theme is a vision of transformation. For Nigeria, it promises safer, greener, and more efficient oilfield operations. For the world, it highlights Africa’s growing role in robotics innovation, proving that technological revolutions are not confined to traditional powerhouses. Nigeria’s oilfields may soon stand as laboratories of progress, where robotics and autonomous systems redefine what is possible in energy production and industrial automation.

, in collaboration with the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) , is working tirelessly to restore cleanliness and dignity to the city. Across Port Harcourt, banners have been placed on flyovers to remind everyone that a clean environment is about health, safety, and social wellbeing.
For too long, negligence on environmental issues has eaten deep into our communities, affecting our health and quality of life. Waste mismanagement pollutes our air, clogs our waterways, and undermines the beauty of our city. But we refuse to stand by and watch.
We are taking action:
• Mobilizing communities to join cleanup efforts.
• Partnering with RIWAMA to strengthen waste collection and disposal.
• Raising awareness through banners and campaigns across Port Harcourt.
• Advocating for accountability so that environmental negligence is no longer ignored.
This is a movement. A clean Port Harcourt means healthier families, safer streets, and a stronger social fabric. Together, we can build a city we are proud to call home.
OYECDO is working. RIWAMA is working. Port Harcourt must be clean. 💚🌍
