RIVERS BIGGEST BOY STORMS RUMUAGHOLU COMMUNITY IN RUMUOKORO WARD 7 OBIO/AKPOR LGA

— H.E, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was conferred a Chiefttaincy Title, EZE EKWUEME 1 of Rumuokoro Clan.

Today, being the 24th day of July, 2025, the good people of Rumuagholu Community in Ward 7, Rumuokoro, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, unanimously hosted His Excellency, Rt Hon Chibuike R Amaechi at the residence of Dr. Charles Chukwuemeka Ekeh.

The organic love from the good people of Rumuagholu Community wasn’t hidden but felt by the former Governor of our dear State.

Family members, friends, well-wishers, and core supporters of Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi were all stationed at the residence of Dr. Charles Chukwuemeka Ekeh to receive him.

Dr. Charles Chukwuemeka Ekeh, in his welcome speech, thanked Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for honoring his invitation at this crucial time, and also, thanked each and everyone of those present, who took out time to make themselves available.

The REGENT of Rumuagholu Community, Eze. Awo Njiowhor and the entire council of Chiefs & Elders of Rumuagholu Community, and the good people of Rumuokoro Clan, unanimously conferred a CHIEFTAINCY TITLE on H.E, Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as the — EZE EKWUEME 1 of Rumuokoro Clan.

During the conferrment, The REGENT of Rumuagholu Community, Eze. Awo Njiowhor highlighted the strong bond and relationship between H.E, Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the good people of Rumuagholu Community, during his reign as the Executive Governor of Rivers State.

In his response, H.E, Rt. Hon. Barr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi expressed gratitude to Dr. Charles Chukwuemeka Ekeh, Eze. Awo Njiowhor— the good people of Rumuagholu and Rumuokoro at large for giving him a warm reception and also crowning him with such a prestigious Chiefttaincy title.

He also promised to continue supporting and working in the vision of a better Nigeria, someday.

Today’s visit was graced by esteemed Rivers Sons such as Hon. Asita O. Asita, Chief. Hon. Chukwudi Dimpka, the leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ward 7. Comr. Mayor Owhonda and other too numerous to mention.

….The NYCN Obalga boss congratulates the Obalga Council Boss.

The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Obio/Akpor Chapter, Honorable Prince Bekwele Wopara has lauded the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo on the occasion of his one hundred (100) days in office.

Indeed the morning tells the day, like the figurative expression "the taste of the pudding is in the eating" this perfectly described the level of performances of the Amb. Chijioke’s administration in this 100 days achievements.

As the Apex Youth body in Obio/Akpor LGA, we unanimously join voices as youths to commend Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, for his brilliant leadership disposition and keeping to some of his electioneering promises within this short period of time since his Inauguration as the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

CELEBRATION & EXCITEMENT STORMS THE VENUE OF THE OBIO/AKPOR UNITY WRESTLING FESTIVAL (EGELEGE) 2024
. .Egelege Sponsored by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Obio/Akpor Chapter.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Obio/Akpor Chapter, ably chaired by Honorable Prince Bekwele Wopara, kicked started the “OBIO/AKPOR UNITY WRESTLING FESTIVAL (EGELEGE) 2024” at Comprehensive Secondary School, Mgbuoshimini in “RUMUEME KINGDOM.”

The festival was graced with a lot of passion and excitement as the wrestling venue was filled with jubilation, singing and celebration. The playground was choked up to the brim as wrestlers, dancers, drummers and spectators gathered to mark the glorious occasion.

Honorable Prince Bekwele Wopara, in a press interview emphasized that the Egelege festival is part of our rich cultural heritage and it cuts across ages.
.Looking round you can feel the excitement, the young, old and elderly are out here today to celebrate an ancient tradition. This crowd is massive and I must confess, it pleases me more that we took this bold step to organize the festival.

The leader of Obio/Akpor 10th Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Owhonogwu Jacobsen Nyeche, in his press interview, said “this is just the beginning of the Obio/Akpor Unity Wrestling Festival and five (5) other kingdoms still have to host and we will be expecting nothing less than the best.”

He also, advised those who have missed today's festival, to make themselves available for subsequent ones.

The Wrestling Event was attended by scores of Obio/Akpor Youths, including Honorable Councilor’s representing their respective Wards, ably led by the proactive Leader of the Obio/Akpor 10th Legislative Assembly.

THE NYCN OBALGA CHAPTER WRESTLING COMMITTEE STORMS THE PALACE OF NYE NWE-ALI AKPOR KINGDOM

…Officially, invited him for the fourth coming Egelege in Akpor Kingdom.

…Presented a bottle of hot drink and a branded NYCN Obalga Chapter T-shirt of the wrestling festival.

Earlier today, the Wrestling Festival (Egelege) Committee of the NYCN Obio/Akpor chapter, stormed the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Eze Ozonwuonwu Levi Amos Orlu Oriebe, Nye Nwe-Ali Akpor Kingdom of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The Wrestling Committee presented a bottle of hot drink as a sign of respect, and branded T-sh*t of the National Youth Council of Nigeria tagged ‘Wrestling 2024’.

In the response of HRM; “Whatever it takes to make the wrestling a success, I’ll provide it if need be and I also promise to use a town crier (local communication) to inform my people about the upcoming wrestling festival, that’ll be done here in Akpor Kingdom”.

Lastly, the committee ably led by Ambassador Aries Arizuruoke Eberendu, thanked the HRM for receiving them as a father would receive his children.

THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NYCN), OBIO/AKPOR CHAPTER PAYS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF OBIO/AKPOR LGA

….The council boss promises to appoint two (2) youths of the NYCN Obalga Chapter as Special Assistant’s.

….The council boss assures the youths of a secretariat at the council’s headquarter.

….Promises to support the upcoming wrestling (egelege) festival spearheaded by the youth council, as a branded T-shirt was presented to him.

The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, today, 20th November, 2024 received the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Obio/Akpor chapter led by the Chairman, Honorable Prince Bekwele Wopara at the council secretariat.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the youth council congratulated the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA on his recent victory at the just concluded polls and also reassured the Chairman of their unflinching solidarity and unalloyed support to his administration.

Honorable Prince Bekwele Wopara, further pleaded with the Chairman to carry the youths of Obio/Akpor along in terms of decision making and appointments.

Lastly, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Obio/Akpor Chapter through its Chairman pleaded with the Council boss to reallocate the youth secretariat that was withheld by the former Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Hon. Barr. George Ariolu and informed him of the forthcoming wrestling (egelege) festival being sponsored by the youth council.

While addressing the youth council, the Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, appreciated the youth council for their support during the electioneering period and their continued solidarity to his administration. He stated that his administration is already working tirelessly to accommodate the Youths.

He promised to appoint two (2) youth council members as Special Assistant’s and also reallocating a youth secretariat in the council’s headquarter.

Furthermore, the upcoming wrestling (Egelege) festival being organized by the youth council, the Chairman promised to support fully, for a smooth running of the festival.

NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA RIVERS STATE, (NYCN) CELEBRATES HER 60TH ANNIVERSARY, SHUN YOUTHS ON ELECTORAL VIOLENCE.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria Rivers State held Her Youth Submit in celebration of Her 60th Anniversary earlier today.

The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Obio/Akpor Chapter, Hon. Prince Bekwele Wopara was ably represented by his deputy, Miss. Ngozi Andra Nwagwu.

The Submit which was themed: 2024 Local Government Polls: Roles and Civic Responsibilities of Youths in Preventing Electoral Violence was graced by lot of Resource Persons who emphasised on the need for a peaceful election in the state come October 5th 2024 as the State prepares for Her Local Government Polls.

The deputy Chairman NYCN Rivers State Chapter, gave a remark on the need for not engaging in actions that will truncate the already existing peace enjoyed in the State under the Governance of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, Executive Governor of Rivers State.

THE CHAIRMAN, NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NYCN), RIVERS STATE CHAPTER INAUGURATES/SWEARS IN 23 LGA COORDINATORS

…Obio/Akpor LGA had their favorite son reinstated as Coordinator, NYCN Obalga Chapter.

…Hon. Prince Bekwele Wopara gave the acceptance speech.

Today, saw a different look as the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State Chapter under the leadership of Chief, Hon.(Amb) Chijioke Ihunwo who also doubles as the CTC Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, inaugurated the 23 LGA Coordinators of the National Youth Council.

The Chairman NYCN, Rivers State Chapter was ably represented by the State Secretary, Comrade David Apiafi.

Addressing the Coordinators, The Chairman tasked them on true commitment to their office while also ensuring committed efforts towards working and projecting good leadership in their respective LGA’s.

Hon. Prince Bekwele Wopara, in his acceptance speech; started by returning all glory to Jehovah for a successful inauguration/swearing in. He further thanked the Chairman NYCN, Rivers State Chapter, Hon.(Amb) Chijioke Ihunwo for finding them worthy to lead in their respective LGA’s.

Moving on, He also thanked each and everyone for attending and contributing to the success of event. Together we shall build the future we dreamt of.

It was indeed an event worth attending.
