EJIGBO RISES IN TOTAL REJECTION OF FAILED AND DIVISIVE LEADERSHIP*

The recent statement credited to Olujimi Asagade, “TEN LOYAL SUPPORTERS IN POLITICS OUTWEIGH THOUSANDS OF DISHONEST MEMBERS,” is not just careless, it is a direct insult to the collective intelligence and dignity of the people of Ejigbo. At a time when unity should be the foundation of leadership, such a declaration exposes a dangerous mindset that values a few loyal voices above the overwhelming majority.

This is how division begins. This is how communities are weakened. When a leader openly suggests that only a handful of people matter, he is boldly telling the rest of the people that their voices are irrelevant. That is not leadership. That is exclusion dressed in arrogance. Ejigbo is not built on selective loyalty. Ejigbo is built on shared struggle, shared identity, and shared progress.

For too long, there has been a growing pattern that cannot be ignored. A pattern of selective engagement. A pattern of political favoritism. A pattern that thrives on keeping people divided so that power remains in the hands of a few. This approach is not only outdated, it is dangerous to the future of the constituency.

Ejigbo is known for its political awareness and strength in unity. Any attempt to fracture that unity for selfish ambition must be resisted with full force. Representation at the Osun State House of Assembly is not a private affair. It is a sacred trust that demands fairness, openness, and accountability to every single ward.

Even more troubling is the clear evidence of misplaced priorities. While the people expect serious legislative work and visible development, what they see too often is a leader absorbed in social appearances and entertainment circles. Governance is not a stage for celebrations. It is a responsibility that demands presence among the people and commitment to their daily realities.

The gap between leadership and the grassroots is widening. The people are watching. The people are asking questions. Where is the impact. Where is the voice. Where is the representation that truly speaks for Ejigbo. These are questions that cannot be silenced by slogans or loyal supporters.

At this critical point, Ejigbo must confront a deeper truth. The continuous concentration of power in one direction has denied the district its rightful place in leadership. The time has come to correct this imbalance. The time has come for the district to rise and claim its space in the House of Representatives Nigeria.

A representative from the district will not govern from a distance. Such leadership will be rooted in real experience, real understanding, and real connection to the people. It will break the cycle of exclusion and open a new chapter where every part of Ejigbo is seen, heard, and valued.

History has shown that when power rotates fairly, development spreads. When power is held tightly by a few, progress becomes selective. Ejigbo must reject this cycle and embrace a future that guarantees inclusion and balanced representation.

This is not just a political argument. This is a call for justice. This is a call for fairness. This is a call for a leadership that respects the people, not one that dismisses them. Ejigbo cannot be reduced to ten loyal voices. Ejigbo is a powerful constituency made up of thousands of determined and conscious citizens.

The message is clear and unmistakable. Ejigbo rejects division. Ejigbo rejects arrogance. Ejigbo rejects failed representation. The district must rise, take its rightful place, and produce leadership that will outperform, unite, and deliver real progress for all.

Ife Odan stands today with immense potential, yet it is evident that, in many respects, it was more progressive and vibrant two decades ago. This reflection is not to dwell on the past, but to awaken our collective consciousness to the urgent need for renewal, growth, and strategic development.

It is time for stakeholders, leaders, indigenes, and well-meaning individuals to rise with a shared vision, one that prioritizes infrastructure, education, economic empowerment, and sustainable progress. Ife Odan deserves deliberate investment, purposeful leadership, and a renewed commitment to restoring its pride and unlocking its full potential.

Together, let us reimagine, rebuild, and reposition Ife Odan into a thriving community we can all be proud of.

God bless you all.
