Let's explore hypocrisy in leadership or politics, particularly in Nigeria ,the danger on governance and citizens

In Nigeria, hypocrisy in leadership can have significant consequences, such as:

1. Eroding public trust: When leaders say one thing but do another, it can lead to widespread disillusionment and mistrust in government and institutions.
2. Undermining accountability: Hypocritical leaders may avoid accountability for their actions, making it harder to tackle corruption and other issues.
3. Fueling cynicism: Hypocrisy can lead to increased cynicism among citizens, causing disengagement from civic processes like voting.

Some examples might include leaders advocating for transparency while hiding their own dealings, or preaching unity while engaging in divisive politics.

Rivers State will soon experience political revolution, cutting across the three Senatorial Districts, LGAs and communities. We must face reality with truth and justice .

Today, I had the privilege of discussing with my people, representatives from all LGAs serving with the NGOs, my intention to take over the Governorship position of Rivers State in 2027.

I also prepared them for the forthcoming mega event coming up in a week’s time, where I will have the opportunity to address the public and citizens of Rivers State on the vision of Operation Nehemiah.

Douglas Fabeke Declares Interest in Rivers Governorship, Unveils “Operation Nehemiah” Vision

The Leader of the Ogoni Liberation Initiative and the Liberation Movement for Good Governance, Dr. Fabeke Douglas, has announced his intention to contest for the Rivers State Governorship in the 2027 election.
Dr. Fabeke, who previously contested for the Rivers South-East Senatorial seat in the 2023 general election, made his governorship ambition known during the flag-off of “Operation Nehemiah,” a comprehensive initiative aimed at driving economic, spiritual, and social transformation across Rivers State. He explained that Operation Nehemiah will serve as the vision platform for his governorship campaign.

Dr. Fabeke further disclosed that he has identified a political party that aligns with his ideology and announced that his first public political meeting will be held tomorrow. He expressed confidence that his leadership would usher in positive political transformation and a new revolution in governance, positioning Rivers State as a globally competitive destination.

He noted that his experience as a Rivers South-East Senatorial candidate and the research conducted after the 2023 general election inspired his decision to join the governorship race. Dr. Fabeke also promised to deliver a public address detailing his vision and strategic plans for the state.

During the event held in Bori, Dr. Fabeke also presented the 2026 budget of the Ogoni Community Empowerment Foundation, emphasizing that the budget will focus on developing the Global Entrepreneurship City, Ogoni, and advancing community empowerment projects.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Liberation Movement for Good Governance convened in Port Harcourt and upgraded its operational strategy and consolidated plans for the next phase of its activities.

Speaking at the meeting, the National Coordinator, Dr. Fabeke Douglas, expressed appreciation to members for their massive turnout during the launch of Operation Nehemiah held a week ago.

“I sincerely thank you all for your overwhelming support at the launch of Operation Nehemiah. As I said then, after the unveiling, many significant developments would follow, including the forthcoming declaration of the political party under which I intend to run,” he stated.

Dr. Fabeke revealed that authority was formally handed over to him after the launch, emphasizing the spiritual foundation of the movement.
“Every anointing has a specific purpose. Our program is more spiritual than physical,” he declared.

He further disclosed that Mr. President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledged receipt of his letter, a development he described as encouraging for the movement.

According to him, although the leadership did not address the Press immediately after the launch of Operation Nehemiah, but, the second phase of the initiative will commence on Thursday, February 26, 2026, when a comprehensive agenda will be unveiled through an official press statement.

“The priority of today’s meeting is to upgrade our operations and reposition the movement for greater impact,” Dr. Fabeke affirmed.

The National Coordinator also conducted a post-launch evaluation session, reviewing lessons learned from the first phase of the program, with detailed reports already published in the movement’s magazine.

In his closing remarks, he announced that subsequent NEC meetings would be held outside Port Harcourt to broaden outreach. He further revealed plans for the movement to visit Khana Local Government Area on March 7, 2026, as part of its grassroots engagement strategy.
