Lagos Food Bank is a non-governmental, non-profit, private-driven initiative committed to fighting hunger, reducing food waste and offering emergency food and services through our proposed food banking network across Lagos state. LFBI’s goal is to be the leader in battling the menace of hunger and its causes by creating, supplying, and strengthening new food banks and in all the twenty (20) Local

Governments Areas in Lagos State. We seek to alleviate hunger and poverty by delivering food and disaster reliefs free of charge. Our goal is to make a difference in our communities and create volunteer opportunities for all.

Compassion and kindness sounds even more beautiful when put into action. ❤️

The award-winning singer and songwriter Simi stepped beyond the stage and into the heart of underserved communities, partnering with us to support vulnerable households through the Temporary Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

Simi arrived at the Food Bank with a big heart, seamlessly lifting up the spirits of beneficiaries and volunteers.

This is more than an outreach, it’s a reminder that kindness has the power to nourish hope, restore dignity, and transform lives.

CONGRATULATIONS to one of our Food Bank Volunteers for successfully completing the required (120) hours of Community service with the Food Bank having served across all our program activities (EDUFOOD, TEFAP, Beneficiaries registration, Outreach preparation etc.)

We pride our certificate holders as people of value and character.

LFBI certificate takes a minimum of 120 hours of selfless service to mature 🙌🙌 so we give a big kudos to any one who made it. Thank you for your heart of service. Without you we can’t make much impact. Our Volunteers have formed an integral part of this initiative, dedicating their time to serving humanity.

More so, LFBI certificates cannot be seen with anyone who has not earned it by merit. Kudos once again👏👏.

In addition to the above, qualified volunteers possess the following listed qualities as an ambassador of the Food Bank:

1. They are selfless and altruistic
2. They are energetic and Creative, and have achieved a certain amount of tasks at the food bank
3. They all have leadership qualities and are service oriented.
4 They have the Passion-When individuals use their talents and passions they can bring life into even the most mundane of tasks.
5) They are people of integrity and they are reliable to the best of our knowledge.
6) They are Team players .This is Key at the Lagos food bank as we cannot over emphasise that TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

Today, we visited Papa Ashafa Health Post for Day 3 of the World Breastfeeding Week.

We celebrated the behaviours and processes that have supported women in their breastfeeding journey.

We advocated to strengthen these behaviours and processes.

This event, conducted through our program, focused on educating caregivers about the importance of breastfeeding, dispelling common myths, and sharing best practices to ensure the health and well-being of their children.

The WBW outreach was packed with learning, sharing, and community building, all aimed at promoting healthier practices and better outcomes for mothers and their children.
