We give support services to vulnerable women, girls (female s*x workers, teenage mothers
and widows) and communities by educating them on issues of s*xual & reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Human rights, gender violence and MDGs advocacy, awareness creation for sustainable development through participatory approaches. We implement a community based basic s*xual & reproductive health and human right education awareness program in rural areas. We also campaign against female ge***al mutilation (FGM/C in several communities, our campaign has graduated the first generation of uncircumcised girls in two communities. The organization’s overall goal is to improve the physical and mental well being of female
s*x workers, rural women and children. She does this by offering a basic education program focused on all aspects of women’s and children’s health and human right providing education aimed at giving women the skills necessary to take charge of their health and that of their families and informing women and their husbands about the health challenges that confront women and their children. Safehaven helps women achieve economic stability through job training and basic business
skills, cooperatives, initiatives and entrepreneurship with an awareness of their rights, women then go to become leaders in their communities inspiring other women to follow intheir steps. One profound result of SAINT’s activities is that an increasing number of village women who participated in the training especially women’s health and Human Rights, have decided to take up the issue of FGM/C. Many have mobilized the people in their villages to declare that they will all stop practicing FGM/C altogether. This decision process occurred gradually
