In our continuous efforts towards through Quality Education and Sports, we hosted the CBT Essay Stage of the 2026 KAF IDSDP Competition on March 28. It was a day that challenged Oyo State students to think beyond the surface.

They were engaged with practical, applied questions that pushed them to think critically, reflect, and connect their ideas to themselves, their communities, and the nation at large as a leader.

We engaged with the students, and with their teachers too, exchanging insights, perspectives, and possibilities. We were also delighted to have Polaris Bank with us, supporting the journey with essential resources.

Look forward to when we will unveil this year’s winning scholars, and look forward to more moments from this day.

“The practical sessions have really helped me understand and use computers better“, noted one of our beneficiaries during the qualitative monitoring of the Initiative's progress.

The mid-stage documentation has shown that Karim Adeyemi Foundation E-Learning Science Scholarship is shaping how these public secondary school students learn, which matters so much for the long-term ✨

Our end goal remains the growth, success, and continuous progress of these students, starting from this first edition and to every edition to come. We envision outstanding performance in their external examinations, excellence in their academic journeys, in their social spaces, and great strides in STEM and the world at large.

Karim Adeyemi Foundation will continue to assess impact of this initiative, and will continue to invest in quality education.

It’s International Day of Sports for Development and Peace!🎉✨

A day that is highly relevant to the goals we pursue at Karim Adeyemi Foundation. Today, we celebrate the power of sports to shape lives, strengthen and develop communities, connect and unite, and build bridges where barriers once existed. This year’s global theme reminds us that sports can bridge the gap between limited access and real opportunity, breaking through barriers of environment, upbringing, exposure, and circumstance.📍

This is a story we’ve been telling since February. At Karim Adeyemi Foundation, IDSDP has never just been a day, it’s always been a journey. Since 2023, we’ve continued to create space for young people to explore how sports can transform communities and individuals. This year, 2026, we asked them to reflect on something deeply relatable, how sports can rebuild the reputation of communities often reduced to labels like "street kids", reveal the potential that already exists within them, and remove barriers. 🌟

On March 28, we reached the second stage of this journey with our CBT essay exam. We challenged the students to think critically and engage with their realities in a practical, personal way. At the same time, they stepped into a digital environment, building up on digital skills that prepare them for a rapidly evolving world.💻

Cheers to sports as a tool for development, peace, unity, and inclusion!! 💪🏽✨

At Karim Adeyemi Foundation, we believe every student in our public secondary schools deserves the tools to compete on a global stage. Therefore, beyond creative skills and sports for Peace and Unity, this yearly essay competition is also for DIGITAL INCLUSION.

As we move through 2026, we see a shift in how students in Nigeria are evaluated for external examinations. The Joint Admissions Matriculations Board (JAMB) began the Computer Based Test Examination in 2013 but made it compulsory in 2015, with the West African Examinations Board (WAEC) proposing a transition to Computer-Based Testing (CBT) in 2026, digital literacy has moved from being an "extra" to an absolute necessity.

Many of our participants from Ibadan do not have the privilege and access to learn with digital resources. That gap can become a huge barrier for them in today’s world. The IDSDP CBT stage is our intentional way of bridging that gap and breaking that barrier by creating a space where students in public secondary schools in Ibadan can engage with technology, inform and encourage them of it's importance, develop basic computer skills, gain confidence expressing their ideas digitally, and become comfortable with technology-based learning.

While this appears a small step, it's one with a lasting impact. 🇳🇬✨ The future of education is digital, and we are making sure students from our communities are not left behind.
