WHEN EQUITY IS BETRAYED, SILENCE BECOMES COMPLICITY: HON. OSITA OPARA STANDS FIRM AGAINST POLITICAL INJUSTICE, DOUBLE STANDARDS, AND THE ATTEMPTED BURIAL OF THE CHARTER OF EQUITY IN OWERRI ZONE.

‎In every democratic society governed by conscience and guided by political morality, there comes a moment when silence becomes betrayal and compromise becomes an assault on justice itself. For Hon. Osita Opara (Itoli of Mbaitoli), the decision not to step down from the Owerri Zone Senate contest, even as other aspirants bowed to pressure, was not an act of stubbornness but a principled resistance against the dangerous erosion of Equity, Justice, and Fairness, the very philosophical pillars upon which peaceful coexistence and political stability are built.

‎A day before the primaries, the Governor unequivocally declared before party faithful that any aspirant who understood that zoning did not favor his or her ambition should withdraw in the interest of fairness and justice to other components of the constituency. That declaration was applauded across the political spectrum because it resonated with the age-long doctrine that power must rotate in a manner that gives every bloc a sense of belonging. Hon. Osita Opara believed those words were not mere ceremonial rhetoric, but a solemn moral commitment to the Charter of Equity. Political philosophy teaches that legitimacy in leadership is derived not merely from authority, but from consistency between words and actions. A leader who preaches justice must be seen to practice justice.

‎It is therefore deeply troubling and politically unfathomable that the same government which publicly advocates equity would openly support an aspirant from Owerri North LGA for the Senate seat, even when the incumbent Senator, Sen. Ezenwa Onyewuchi, who is completing an eight-year tenure, is equally from Owerri North. Such contradiction raises fundamental questions about the sincerity of the Charter of Equity being preached to the people. Equity cannot be selective; justice cannot be conditional; fairness cannot be sacrificed on the altar of political convenience. Once principles become disposable, trust in leadership begins to collapse. As political theorists have long argued, the greatest threat to democracy is not opposition, but hypocrisy clothed in authority.

‎Hon. Osita Opara therefore refused to participate in what many party faithful have described as an orchestrated surrender of fairness. He remains convinced that posterity will judge every actor according to whether they stood with justice or chose expediency over truth. He believes that Mbaitoli, and indeed the broader Owerri Zone, deserve a political process anchored on integrity rather than manipulation. History has repeatedly shown that societies thrive not when the powerful impose outcomes, but when institutions respect balance, inclusion, and due process.

‎Consequently, Hon. Osita Opara has called on all his supporters, political associates, and lovers of justice to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, emphasizing that no official result has yet been announced. In line with the directives of the party leadership, the authentic and official outcome of the exercise will be announced in Abuja. Until that process is concluded, every speculative publication and premature declaration remains unofficial, misleading, and politically mischievous.

‎Hon. Osita Opara wishes to categorically state that he has not conceded to any kangaroo consensus arrangement concocted by desperate political propagandists. Such publications exist only in the hallucinations and fertile imaginations of their authors whose intention is to deceive the public and create a false narrative of surrender where none exists. Consensus, in any democratic setting, must emerge from collective agreement, mutual respect, and transparent consultation, not coercion, manipulation, or political intimidation disguised as party unity.

‎As a democrat and firm believer in constitutional order, Hon. Osita Opara shall continue to prosecute his case in Abuja until justice is attained and fairness prevails. The struggle is not merely about one man’s ambition; it is about defending the sanctity of equity, preserving the credibility of political promises, and ensuring that future generations can still believe that principles matter in public life.

‎Justice may be delayed, but truth remains undefeated. Equity may be challenged, but fairness shall ultimately prevail.

THE CAP IS ALREADY RED: OSITA OPARA AND A JOURNEY THAT HAS BEGUN

By MacPhilip C Chukwukere

‎In politics, there are those who talk about readiness, and there are those who embody it. Hon. Osita Opara has made it unmistakably clear which side he belongs to.

‎This is not a man warming up for a race.
‎This is a man already on the track, already in motion, already focused on the finish line.

‎And as the drums of 2027 grow louder, one message is echoing across Owerri Zone:
‎the cap is already red.

‎Long before many aspirants began sketching plans, Osita Opara had already laid the foundation. His constituency office stands not as decoration, but as a living, functional hub of engagement, a place where strategy meets people, and where leadership is practiced, not promised.

‎It is easy to declare ambition; it is harder to build structure. Opara chose the harder, more serious path.

‎In every political contest, there is symbolic power in being first, not just first in paperwork, but first in intent, first in courage, first in clarity.

‎By securing Form Number 001, Osita Opara did more than comply with procedure, he planted a flag. He signaled readiness without hesitation, purpose without confusion, and ambition without apology.

‎Others may follow. But they are, quite simply, following.

‎What separates Osita Opara is not just preparation, it is consistency. His readiness is not activated by election calendars. It is constant, deliberate, and sustained.

‎He has remained rooted in the grassroots, visible among the people, and active in the political space when it mattered most, not only when it was convenient. That is not strategy; that is character.

‎“The cap is already red” is not a slogan. It is a statement of inevitability.

‎The Red Chambers, the Senate, is not being approached with uncertainty. It is being approached with preparation, with structure, and with momentum already in motion.

‎Osita Opara is not asking if he is ready.
‎He is showing that he has always been ready.

‎While others are still assembling pieces, Osita Opara has taken the bold step forward. The journey to the Red Chambers has begun, not in theory, but in action.

‎And in politics, that difference is everything.

‎Because when the time comes for the people to decide, they will not be choosing between promises and possibilities, they will be choosing between those who are still preparing and the one who has already begun.

‎The structures are in place.
‎The signal has been given.
‎The cap is already red.

‎The journey to the Senate is no longer a question.

‎With Osita Opara, it is a movement.

EQUITY IS NOT A SLOGAN, IT IS A TEST OF CHARACTER

By MacPhilip C Chukwukere

‎When Kennedy Ibeh declared, “I will not contest for Federal House now in the spirit of equity,” as reported in the Trumpeter Newspaper of Tuesday 28th April 2026, he did more than step aside, he elevated the conversation. In a political climate often suffocated by ambition without restraint, that statement lands like a moral verdict. It is a reminder that leadership is not merely about occupying space, but about understanding when to create space.

‎That singular act speaks to a deeper political philosophy, the ethics of restraint, a principle as old as governance itself. From classical republican thought to modern democratic theory, the legitimacy of power rests not only on winning contests but on honouring balance, fairness, and rotation. Where ambition must bow, equity must rise.

‎And this is precisely where the spotlight now turns to Prince Alex Mbata and other aspirants from Owerri Federal Constituency.

‎Let’s be frank: politics without memory is injustice in motion. Owerri Federal Constituency has already produced the outgoing senator, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, who will be serving out his full eight-year tenure in the Senate and hails from the Owerri Federal bloc. To now stretch further for dominance at the expense of Mbaitoli is not strategy, it is overreach. It is the kind of political gluttony that fractures parties and breeds resentment beneath forced unity.

‎Equity is not convenience. It is discipline.
‎The principle of equity demands a deliberate distribution of opportunities, not as charity, but as a stabilizing mechanism. Political philosophers from Aristotle to Rawls have argued that fairness in distribution is essential for legitimacy. In practical politics, especially within plural societies like ours, zoning and rotation are not weaknesses, they are instruments of cohesion.

‎Mbaitoli has waited. Mbaitoli has watched. Mbaitoli has contributed.

‎Now Mbaitoli must be considered.

‎This is not an emotional appeal; it is a rational demand grounded in justice as fairness. When one bloc accumulates both legislative and senatorial leverage, it distorts representation and erodes trust. A party that ignores this reality is not building strength, it is planting seeds of internal collapse.

‎The burden of statesmanship now rests heavily on Hope Uzodinma. Leadership is tested not in moments of comfort, but in moments that demand difficult, principled decisions. This is one of those moments.

‎Governor Uzodinma must decide:
‎Will the party stand on the solid ground of fairness, or sink into the quicksand of political expediency?

‎Because history is unforgiving. It does not remember those who merely held power, it remembers those who used power to balance competing interests with wisdom.

‎Kennedy Ibeh has drawn a line in the sand, a line defined by conscience over convenience. Others must now decide which side they stand on.

‎Mbaitoli stands today not in protest, but in principled expectation, solidly behind the aspiration of Osita Opara. This is a collective position anchored on justice, balance, and political inclusion.

‎We therefore appeal, not in desperation but in conviction, to the conscience of Governor Uzodinma:
‎give Mbaitoli Osita Opara.

‎Let equity speak. Let fairness prevail. Anything less diminishes us all.

Osita Opara Salutes Imo State At 50.

By Saviour Osuoha.

Frontline aspirant for the Seat of Owerri Zone (Imo East Senatorial District) in the Federal House of Senate, ahead of the awaited 2027 General Elections in Nigeria, Hon.Osita Opara (Itoli), has relayed his congratulatory message to the people and Government of Imo State led by the Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma,on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Imo state in 1976.

Speaking through one of his Print Media Assistants on Sunday, February, 1, 2026 Hon.Osita Opara expressed joy over what he described as 'smooth and hitch-free democratic dispensations in the state since exit of military rule in Nigeria, adding that, with the advent of the former Governor, Chief Achike Udenwa (1999-2007), Imo state witnessed landmark socio-economic and political development which stood the test of time to be emulated by successive governments in the state.

Hon.Osita Opara, however used the occasion in commending the Executive Governor of Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodimma for the socio-infrastructural facelift given the state within five years of his administration, even as he maintained that the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Imo state shall no doubt, usher in more meaningful dividends of democracy to her people as the state continues to mark the date of its creation in the years ahead.

The Owerri Zone Senatorial hopeful and former Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA of the state, particularly thanked Gov. Uzodimma and other government functionaries in the state for making the celebrations heralding the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Imo State a huge success, while pledging continued support for 3R administration in the state led by Gov. Hope Uzodimma, especially on quality road-construction, among others.

It would be recalled that Imo State was created in 1976 by the Gen.Murtala Mohammed's military regime which appointed Navy Commander Ndubuisi Kalu as the first Military Governor of the state.
