FAITH AND PHILANTHROPY: MAZI CHIMA MATTHEW AMADI, PHD COMMEMORATES CATHOLIC MEN'S DAY, VENERATES ANGLICAN WOMEN, DONATES ₦26.8 MILLION ACROSS 20 CHURCHES
"For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just..." — Genesis 18:19
As the Catholic Church worldwide extols her men on this 3rd day of May 2026, Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi — popularly known and celebrated as Mazi Gburugburu — once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to faith, family, and community by honouring the sacred roles of fathers and women across denominational lines.
Recognising fathers as the pillars of every home, church, and society, Mazi Gburugburu, in his characteristic and generous manner, delegated members of the Central Working Committee of The Mazi Organisation (TMO), distinguishably led by the Director General, Hon. Henry Onwukwe (Apiti Uzo-Ubi) to represent him at selected rural and urban Catholic Churches across Owerri Zone and beyond, celebrating the Catholic Men's Day on his behalf.
In a gesture consistent with his earlier support during the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) Annual Mothering Sunday, which took place on 19th April 2026, Dr. Chima Amadi donated the sum of ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira) and ₦1,500,000 (One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira) respectively to the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) of each Catholic Church visited, affirming his equal and unwavering support for both men and women in the body of Christ.
Not stopping there, Mazi Gburugburu further extended his philanthropic reach to the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, directing The Mazi Organisation (TMO) to visit Anglican branches across Owerri Zone and Imo State to worship and support their women. Though TMO's prior engagements had prevented their attendance at the Anglican Mothering Sunday Service, Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi ensured that the Anglican faithful were not left behind — donating ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira) to each Anglican church visited in observance and honour of their past Mothering Sunday.
In total, ₦26,800,000 (Twenty-Six Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) was donated across 20 churches, both Catholic and Anglican — spreading the spirit of love, honour, and generosity across communities in Imo State.
