💙 Gratitude Spotlight: Emmanuela Eze

We are deeply grateful to Emmanuela Eze, a dedicated student nurse, for her powerful and insightful presentation during our International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) program.

With clarity, compassion, and confidence, Emmanuela broke down complex health realities around FGM in a way that was understandable, engaging, and impactful for the students. Her session created a safe space for learning, encouraged honest questions, and helped the girls truly understand why FGM is harmful and why their voices matter in ending it.

The students left her session more informed, empowered, and inspired—ready to carry the message of zero tolerance for FGM back to their schools and communities as Cause a Smile Ambassadors.

Thank you, Emmanuela, for using your knowledge, passion, and voice to stand up for girls’ health, dignity, and rights. Your contribution made a lasting difference.

📢 Standing Together for a Future Free from FGM

On 6 February 2026, Cause a Smile Educational Foundation (CSEDF), in collaboration with the Association of Female Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AFMLSN), Imo State Chapter, and with support from the Imo State Universal Education Board (IMSUBEB), successfully organized a one-day training and education campaign to mark the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM).

Girls from 7 secondary schools in New Owerri were empowered with knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills to become Cause a Smile Ambassadors, committed to advocating for an end to FGM in their schools and communities.

Through expert sessions, open dialogue, and mentorship, participants learned that FGM has no health benefits and violates the rights and dignity of girls and women. The program ended with the presentation of certificates to student ambassadors and appreciation to participating schools and facilitators.

📢 ENDING FGM STARTS WITH EDUCATION

Cause a Smile Educational Foundation (CSEDF), in collaboration with the Association of Female Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AFMLSN), Imo State Chapter, is organizing a One-Day Training & Education Campaign to mark the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM).

This impactful session will train girls from 8 secondary schools in New Owerri to become Cause a Smile Ambassadors, empowering them with knowledge and confidence to advocate against FGM and educate their peers.
