CELEBRATING FIVE YEARS OF PURPOSE & IMPACT

Today is a special day!

Five years ago, the Ozioma Okoro Caring Hands Foundation (OOCHF) was born from a simple but powerful vision: to support survivors and victims of domestic violence and give them hope for a better tomorrow.

As we celebrate this 5th anniversary, we give thanks to God for His faithfulness and grace that have sustained us on this noble path. It is because of Him that in the past five years, OOCHF has grown into a fulfilling and purpose-driven movement. And we believe that every incredible person who is part of this foundation feels that same deep sense of purpose.

Speaking of incredible people, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has supported this journey. To those who have generously donated funds to support our cause, thank you. Because of your kind donations, schoolgirls have received free sanitary pads, domestic violence survivors can stand tall without shame, and less-privileged women have found the means to support themselves and pursue economic opportunities. To our dedicated official team, volunteers, sponsors, board members Ulor Racheal,Mufasa Ibn Ogbonna,Dr.Ulu Anuma Kalu,Dr.Newton Nnaedoziem Enyimba,Ms Michelle Whatley,Ms Paula Jordan, program coordinator Ihuoma Onuoha, mentors, graphic designers, photographer/cinematographerBiggi Blaise—THANK YOU SO MUCH. It is truly a privilege to work together so that many can have hope for a better life.

We would also like to specially commend and appreciate the Imo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, for always working with us in handling sensitive cases of domestic violence and abuse. Also we want to say a big thank you to Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency for always attending to our referrals. We are deeply grateful for your invaluable support & partnership.

As a foundation, it is our dream and mission to help build a world where women, girls, and children feel safe, seen, heard, and understood. This dream can become a reality. This dream should be a reality. Every day, we hear news of women surviving domestic violence and abuse—or not surviving at all. We can, and we must, work to end cycles of violence in our communities. They are human beings, deserving of every ounce of dignity and respect.

In 2022, we launched impactful outreach programs. Through “Humans Not Animals,” we reached over 5,000 people in Imo State high schools, promoting domestic violence awareness and menstrual hygiene while distributing free sanitary pads. “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” reached 3,000 students in Abia State. We visited special schools, reaching 4,000 students, supported survivors, and rescued a child victim.

There is still much to be done. In the coming years, we can build skills acquisition centers to empower women and youths. We can create safe zones for vulnerable girls and children. We can offer scholarships, rehabilitation programs, counseling, healthcare, legal aid, and expand awareness efforts. Together, we can make lasting change.

Ozioma Okoro Caring Hands Foundation will continue to change lives, make a difference, and work toward a world where children, women, and girls are free from pain, shame, and societal neglect. As a foundation, our voice will keep speaking for those who suffer stigma and discrimination as survivors of gender-based violence.

Please visit our website (on the flyer) to learn more about what we do. If you would like to volunteer, you are welcome to join us. And if you wish to donate, please do. Your kindness helps us support vulnerable girls, women, and children.

Hip hip hip! Hooray! Cheers to five years of impact and compassion! As they say, “Charity is love made visible.”

Thank you so much, once again.
