Empowering 7,000 Girls Across 10 Schools! 💜✨

Through the Vestal Egbukole Foundation Caring for the Girl Child Initiative, we reached 7,000 girls across 10 schools, providing them with essential menstrual hygiene education and supplies. Each girl received a pack containing a notebook, a pen, a pack of disposable pads, and a pack of reusable pads.

Accompanied by doctors and nurses, our team engaged with the girls—doctors led informative sessions on menstrual hygiene, while nurses demonstrated how to properly use, wash (for reusable pads), and dispose (for disposable pads).

Beyond distributing supplies, we are equipping girls with the knowledge and confidence to manage their health with dignity. Together, we are breaking barriers and building a brighter future! 💜📚🌍

Introducing the VESTAL EGBUKOLE FOUNDATION - "CARING FOR THE GIRL CHILD INITIATIVE"!

To commemorate the 7th year memorial of late Ugoeze (Lady) Vestal C. Egbukole, we will be reaching out to 7,000 schoolgirls across 10 schools in the Owerri zone from December 9th to 13th, 2024, to support their health, education, and empowerment.

Each girl will receive:

- One Pack of Reusable Sanitary Pads
- One Pack of Disposable Sanitary Pads
- A VEF Notebook
- A Pen

Our goal? To ensure that every girl has access to essential menstrual health products and the knowledge to manage her hygiene with confidence and dignity.

Ceremony:
And finally, one month ago, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of our beneficiaries. The event was honored by the presence of Ikenna Egbukole, founder of the EME Foundation, alongside HRM Eze Uchenna Mitchell Egbukole, Ochoronma VI of Egbu Kingdom. The ceremony was attended by the EME Foundation Board of Trustees, Royal leaders, Government and Non-governmental Dignitaries and members of the press.

During the event, 50 of the 59 beneficiaries were awarded One million Naira (₦1,000,000) each, while an additional 9 beneficiaries, falling under the compassionate category, received Five Hundred Thousand Naira (₦500,000) each. In total, ₦55.4 million was disbursed, marking a significant investment in the future of these promising individuals.

The day was marked by the presentation of cheques, serving as a moment of recognition and hope for the future of the communities in Owerri.

Training:

Following the interviews, 59 successful candidates participated in a dynamic 2-day entrepreneurship training, carried out by Kleos Advisory Africa.

The program covered a range of essential topics, including identifying innovative business opportunities, crafting customer-centric strategies, and mastering tactical financial skills. Practical sessions on marketing unique solutions and building a dream team were complemented by insights from guest speaker Babatunde Akin Moses, who shared his experiences and real-life examples of building a business in Nigeria. The training culminated in a session on pitching businesses to investors.

One Month On: Reflecting on the Journey of the EME Foundation Youth Entrepreneurship Grant - Scheme II

It’s been one month since we took the final step in an incredible journey toward empowering future leaders. The journey began on May 6th with the opening of the application period. Over the course of one month, we received over 1,100 online applications.

Here’s a look back at the key moments that shaped this transformative experience:

Interview Day:
After a thorough review of over 1,100 applications by the independent Canadian company Dgytal Inc., 250 exceptional candidates advanced to the next step—a Zoom interview, also conducted by Dgytal over three days. This crucial stage brought them closer to making a difference.

The Eze Mitchell Egbukole Foundation is accepting applications for our Youth Entrepreneurship Grant - Scheme II. 50 innovative youths will receive grant funding of ₦1,000,000 each to launch or expand their businesses.

If you are between the ages of 21-40, have a business registered in Imo State, and an indigene of Owerri LGA, this is your chance to take your business or idea to the next level!
