“Discipline and Service”

A WORD OF ADVICE TO OUR YOUTHS: SAY NO TO ICE (MPURU MIRI)

Please permit us to emphasize the serious dangers of Ice, popularly known as “Mpuru Miri.”

Ice is not a lifestyle, a sign of toughness, or a way to prove that you are a rugged boy or girl. It is a dangerous substance that can gradually destroy your health, peace of mind, relationships, finances, career, and future.

Many young people begin with curiosity, peer pressure, or the desire to feel confident, but what may start as “just trying it” can become a serious problem. Drug abuse can affect your body and mind, damage your relationships, reduce your ability to achieve your goals, and put your life at risk.

Your future is more valuable than any temporary feeling a drug can give you.

Do not allow peer pressure to determine your destiny. If you or someone you know is already struggling with drug use, seek help from a trusted person or qualified health professional. Asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.

Let us choose education over addiction, discipline over destruction, and a healthy future over temporary pleasure.

Stay away from drugs. Stay safe. Protect your health. Protect your future.

«“Drugs are silent destroyers; they can take away your health, your money, your opportunities, and ultimately your future. Say NO to drugs and YES to life.”»

THE DAY AFTER THE ELECTION

The campaign posters will come down.
The loudspeakers will go silent.
The rallies will end.
The politicians will return to their offices.
Life will move on.
But somewhere...

A mother may still be waiting for the son who never returned.
A wife may still be sleeping beside an empty space on the bed.
A child may still be asking, "Daddy promised to come back... Where is he?"

No one deserves that kind of pain.
No election is worth a mother's tears.
No political office is worth a father's grave.
No victory is worth turning a child into an orphan.

Today, we may support different political parties.
Tomorrow, we will still meet in our markets.
We will still pray in the same mosques and churches.

We will still celebrate together.
We will still mourn together when life happens.
So, why should politics make us enemies?

As Osun State prepares for the forthcoming election, let us remember that peace is not a sign of weakness; it is the foundation of progress.

Vote with your conscience.
Respect opposing views.
Reject violence.
Protect one another.

Let the only mark this election leaves behind be the ink on our voters' thumbs not the blood of our brothers and sisters.

When this election is over, make sure you are alive to embrace your family, celebrate with your friends, and continue building a peaceful and prosperous Osun State.
Choose Peace. Choose Love. Choose Life.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES SALARY INCREASE FOR ARMED FORCES PERSONNEL

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a major salary increase for personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, reinforcing the Federal Government's commitment to improving troop welfare and strengthening national security.

Under the new salary structure, which takes effect from 1 September, approximately 250,000 military personnel will benefit as follows:

🔹 Brigadier General to General – 30% salary increase
🔹 Colonel to Warrant Officer – 50% salary increase
🔹 Private to Staff Sergeant – 80% salary increase

The new pay package will increase the Armed Forces' annual salary bill from ₦660 billion to ₦924 billion, representing one of the most significant welfare improvements for military personnel in recent years.

President Tinubu stated that the salary review is a demonstration of the nation's appreciation for the sacrifices made daily by members of the Armed Forces in combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats across the country.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to improving troop welfare, modernising the military with advanced equipment and technology, and ensuring that Nigeria's Armed Forces remain capable of protecting the nation's sovereignty and the lives of its citizens.

«"The men and women who keep us safe deserve our full support and appreciation. We remain committed to improving their welfare and strengthening our Armed Forces to meet every security challenge."»

🫡 A stronger military begins with better welfare. We salute the brave men and women serving Nigeria with courage and honour.

BREAKING: Nigerian Soldier Allegedly Seen Acting As Bouncer For TikToker Ivanna At Peller, Jarvis Wedding

LAGOS, Nigeria — A video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after a Nigerian soldier was allegedly seen working as a bouncer for popular TikToker Ivanna at the star-studded wedding of fellow content creators Peller and Jarvis on Saturday.

The wedding, held in Lekki, Lagos State, was one of Nigeria’s biggest social media events of the year. It attracted celebrities, influencers, and content creators including Daddy Freeze, Zinoleesky, Cute Abiola, and Ivanna herself.
In the viral clip, a man dressed in what appears to be a full Nigerian military uniform is seen performing security duties — reportedly acting as a personal bouncer for Ivanna as she moved through the venue. The footage has triggered strong reactions, with many questioning why a uniformed soldier would be performing private security work at a celebrity event.

Security Was Already Tight

Security at the JP2026 wedding was heavy from the start. Earlier reports confirmed that the venue was secured by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police. Bouncers were also seen denying entry to guests who forgot their invitation cards.

Ivanna's Presence At The Wedding

Ivanna was listed among the high-profile guests at the ceremony. The wedding drew thousands of virtual viewers via livestream and generated massive buzz across social media platforms.

No Official Confirmation Yet

The Nigerian Army has not issued any official statement regarding the alleged incident. It remains unclear whether the person in the video is an active-duty soldier or someone wearing a military uniform without authorization.

If confirmed, the involvement of a uniformed soldier in private security duties would raise serious questions about military protocol and the use of service personnel for personal celebrity protection.
