2026 Campaigns: Governor Adeleke Unveils Rural Infrastructure Agenda

OSOGBO - 13/07/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke today unveiled a series of plans and programmes for the development of Osun rural areas under his number two five-point agenda, the consolidation of infrastructure expansion for collective prosperity.

The governor, who spoke at Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Governments while addressing traditional rulers at Ikire-Ile and Ile-Ogbo, said the reconstruction of major internal roads across the two local governments will continue.

"I assure you, our royal fathers, I will continue to upgrade your roads. I have started by flagging off the Telemu-Ilemowu-Ogbagba Road. All other internal roads are slated under our enlarged rural agenda.

"You have seen our work at Iwo and other areas. We will do more for our people once we are re-elected. We have a five-point agenda which will benefit all towns and villages in our dear state," the governor assured the people of Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Governments.

At the campaign engagements, Governor Adeleke also received hundreds of defectors from the APC into the Accord, led by Hon. Dauda Lawal (Ọmọ Ẹkùn), former APC Vice Chairman in Olaoluwa Local Government, and Hon. Amos Akindiya, former Member of the Osun State House of Assembly.

The defectors said their decision was informed by Governor Adeleke's visible infrastructure development across Osun, his people-oriented style of governance, and their conviction that his administration has delivered tangible dividends of democracy to both rural and urban communities.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Dauda Lawal said the governor's commitment to fulfilling his promises and improving the welfare of the people made it impossible for them to remain in the APC.

He further noted that those owed half salaries during the previous APC administration are now being paid by the Adeleke administration, including the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, whom he said is also a beneficiary of the ongoing half salary payments.

The traditional rulers in both local governments appreciated the governor for his delivery so far and expatiated on the needs and aspirations of their people.

The Akire of Ikire-Ile, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alhaji Azeez Olatunbosun, who spoke on behalf of the Olaoluwa traditional rulers, and the Olu of Ile-Ogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje, who spoke for the Ayedire traditional rulers, commended the governor for serving the state well over the last four years, offered prayers for him, and pledged their support for his re-election.

My Achievements for Muslim Ummah Surpass my Predecessors’ Records - Governor Adeleke

OSOGBO - 12/07/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng

The Osun State Muslim Community today hosted Governor Ademola Adeleke with the Governor telling the muslim ummah that his records of achievements for the Islamic sector surpasses that of his predecessors.

Addressing the umbrella body of muslim faithfuls, the governor said his accomplishments for the ummah cannot be rivalled by his predecessors, flaunting his records as ground breaking and challenging the APC candidate to run on the records of his party while in power.

Accompanied by top muslim aides who spoke of the various deliveries in the last four years, the governor said for 12 years before his assumption of office, Osun has no Hajj camp, the only state in the South West without one.

“I am happy to report that my administration is almost completing the hajj camp to remove the shame on the ummah. They were in office and they did not dim it fit to build the camp for intending pilgrims.

“They were in office and they claimed to be real muslims, yet they did not think of a mosque at the Government House. My administration is building one.

“For their years in office, they refused to constitute the Hajj Welfare board. My administration has not only set up the board but we ensure multiple benefits for muslims on pilgrimage.

“Just recently, Osun became the first state in the South West to formalise issuance of Islamic marriage certificates. It is now operational. I have also directed that the processes for the issuance should henceforth be domiciled with the muslim community as the umbrella body for muslims in Osun state.

“You all know my principal officers and many members of my cabinet are muslims. I ensure muslims get their fair share in almost all areas.I listed all the above to show what I did that they refused to do when they were in office. You can judge who is a true believer from the work of our hands”, the governor submitted.

Corroborating the governor, the Special adviser on political affairs to the governor, Alhaji Muniru Raji declared that Senator Adeleke had delivered extensively for the muslim ummah, adding that “ the governor deserves our votes.

“They were in office and neglected the ummah. We thank Governor Adeleke for implementing several policies and projects to meet the needs and aspirations of muslims in Osun state. We know he will do more when he is re-elected on August 15th”, the special adviser submitted.

Earlier, the chairman of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi said the invitation to the governor was in pursuance of the open platforms for all governorship candidates to speak on their programmes and policies.

Alhaji Olawuyi who thanked the governor for his deliveries so far presented further requests to the governor, urging the number one citizen to forge ahead with his fair mindedness to all faiths.

The governor was accompanied by members of the Imole Campaign Council and the State Executive Council.

REJECT MONETARY INDUCEMENTS FOR YOUR VOTERS CARDS - GOV ADELEKE TO OSUN VOTERS

● WARNS AGAINST COMPROMISING VOTERS REGISTERS

OSOGBO - 09/07/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke has raised alarm over an ongoing coordinated, illegal operation by the Osun APC to buy up voters’ voting cards and extract pin numbers from the cards to disenfranchise voters on August 15.

In a statement on Thursday morning, the governor warned against what he called illegal and anti-democratic activities that are targeted at compromising the voters registers, electronically disenfranchising voters and manipulating the outcome of August 15 polls, calling the attention of the electoral commission to the untoward development.

Citing multiple reports from across the 30 local governments and Area Office, the governor accused the Osun APC and its agents of monetarily inducing the public to part with their voters’ cards with intent to disenfranchise such voters and warned members of the public to protect and never part with their voters cards.

The state governor noted further that APC agents are extracting the pin numbers on the voters cards through offering of monetary rewards and warned that the operation is targeting local governments with huge followership of the Accord Party.

The plot is to ensure massive dislocation of registered voters from their place of registration such as from one town to the other and thereby making it impossible for such voters to vote on the day of election

In some other local governments, the APC agents insisted on the voters swearing an oath to take inducement to secure the pin numbers or a photocopy of the voters cards, charging voters not to fall for an evil plot to deny them their voting rights.

The governor who described the development as criminal practices and a breach of the provisions of the electoral act called on the electoral commission to wade into the matter as reports point to an insider collusion in the APC operations.

“I task the electoral body not to look the other way. We have reports of insider collusion which we are still investigating. Any link between the pin numbers on the voters card and manipulations of the voting process is a source of concern for us. We trust the electoral body to act.

“My dear people of Osun state, don't sell your voters cards; your cards are your power to vote and elect your leaders on August 15 and beyond. Osun APC wants to stop you from voting. Don't submit your cards”, the governor was quoted as saying in the statement.

FROM YESTERDAY'S CHALLENGES TO TODAY'S PROGRESS: THE OSUN STORY UNDER GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE

The people of Osun have witnessed a clear transition from the politics of hardship to the governance of hope and purposeful leadership.

From leadership perceived as harsh and disconnected to compassionate, people-centred governance.
From the era of half salaries and prolonged workers' hardship to the consistent payment of full salaries and pensions as and when due.
From neglect of public infrastructure to strategic investments in projects that are laying the foundation for a sustainable and prosperous Osun.
From a period many associated with uncertainty to an era of hope, progress, and Imole (Light).

Today, the evidence of governance is visible in improved workers' welfare, infrastructure renewal, enhanced social investments, and a government that continues to put the welfare of the people first.

The people of Osun know the difference. They have experienced the change, and they understand what responsible and compassionate leadership looks like.

OSUN IS IN SAFE HANDS.
