The High-Level National Dialogue on Adolescent Girls in Abuja has officially come to an end, and our teenage representatives are safely back home carrying experiences, lessons, and memories that will stay with them for a very long time. ✨

From engaging in powerful conversations with high-level stakeholders to boldly speaking on issues affecting women and girls, these young advocates represented Value Female Network Africa with courage, passion, and purpose.

This journey may be over, but their voices are only getting stronger. They remain committed to advocating for girls’ leadership, amplifying girls’ voices, and standing against harmful traditional practices such as FGM and child marriage in their communities and beyond.

🤍The future is brighter when young people are empowered to lead it. 🧡

In rooms where young people are often expected to stay silent, our teenagers are boldly speaking up, breaking barriers, and contributing to national conversations that shape the future of girls in Nigeria.

At the High-Level National Dialogue on Adolescent Girls in Abuja themed “Her Voice, Her Power: Strengthening Girls’ Voice, Agency and Leadership,” teenage representatives from Value Female Network Africa are engaging directly with policymakers, development partners, civil society leaders, and other high-level stakeholders on critical conversations around violence prevention, girls’ leadership, harmful practices, and building safer futures for adolescent girls.

One powerful moment came when Ibrahim Ojutomori passionately spoke about the role boys must play in supporting girls and challenging harmful norms in society. In the middle of discussions on ending violence, child marriage, and FGM, he reminded the room that meaningful change requires boys to become active allies in creating safer and more inclusive spaces for girls.

“Boys must stop seeing girls’ issues as ‘their problem.’ When girls are safe, heard, and empowered, the whole society wins.” — Ibrahim Ojutomori

These are not just teenagers attending an event. They are young leaders making history, taking up spaces where they would normally be unheard, and proving that adolescent voices deserve not just a seat at the table, but influence in the conversation. ✨
