Meet our youngsters for this year!

Our survey showed a 50% of these kids haven't had the opportunity to interact with a laptop, those who have only play games and watch movies.

Through our selflessness and continuity to bridging the digital divide in marginalized communities and giving a shot at technology advancement, they are leaving a strong foundation for technology skills.

They came, learn and now equipped!

But Skill-Them-Young has changed that for Mariamโ€ฆ.

In just four weeks, over 50 eager fingers were nurtured.

When we first met these youngsters, our survey revealed a tough reality:

๐Ÿ”น A large percentage had never touched a keyboard.
๐Ÿ”น Those who had, used it only for movies and games.

But everything changed.

Through Skill-Them-Young, these same minds now hold the foundational digital skills that are no longer optional in todayโ€™s fast-changing world, they are survival skills.

This is more than learning how to type or click.

It is about unlocking confidence.
It is about turning curiosity into creativity.
It is about giving a generation the tools to rewrite their own future.

We are proud of this ripple effect.

This week, we celebrate the graduation of our Skill-Them-Young 3.0 fellows, a group of resilient youngsters who showed up week after week,for 4-week structured digital literacy including a one week internship in different organizations in Osogbo Osun State.

This milestone matters more than ever. In a country where only about 9% of people have recently used a computer, and digital literacy is still a luxury.

Yet, these fellows walked in seeing laptops as mere tools for connection and walked out seeing them as instruments of creation, innovation, and opportunity.

Their journey reminds us that catching them young is more than a slogan, itโ€™s a strategy for transforming futures.

We are proud of these graduates and are excited for the ripple effect.

And we are committed to empowering even more communities, one digital skill at a time.

"I can use the Internet, set up Google Meet and send emails", a testimonial from Abdulfawas a marginalized Jss 1 student.

Like Fawas, other marginalized students completed the one-month Skill-Them-Young fellowship.

Today is their graduation after 4 weeks of thorough workshops and internship.

Our parents also testified to the improvements in their children.

Congratulations to all Skill-Them-Young 3.0 fellows.

With a focus on Google Workspace, our facilitator thesocialrukayat continued to introduce and demonstrate the practical use of online collaboration tools, bringing our students closer to their online confidence with each lesson.

We are proud that our students can now interact and work with Google apps, and we look forward to the amazing things that this knowledge will generate for them.

Additionally, the guys received instructions on how to use Google Meet. They were informed by thesocialrukayat that Google Meet can function similarly to WhatsApp, but in a more official manner. Following that, the pupils were instructed to put what they had learned into practice, which they accomplished expertly.

A digital literate person is incomplete with knowledge on communication and collaboration tools.

Today's session was headed by our amazing tutor Rukayat Adekola.

Communication is key and itโ€™s essential in our day to day activities. Todayโ€™s session the attendees were taken through on how to create professional email account and how to navigate through it. Adekola took them through on how to compose Email. The session covers how to use some basic features of Email such as BCC & CC and when to use them. They also learned how to leverage Google productivity tools to boost efficiency.

After the session, the fellows were divided into three groups and engaged in an exciting assessment that tested everything they had learned this week.Guided by Mr. Timilehin, Mr. Prosper, and Miss Fathia, they tackled 100 thought-provoking questions.

Finally, Group 1 won the quiz competition with a total of 60 points, while Group 2 scored 52 points and Group 3 scored 50 points. The fellows really tried, and we could see that they had improved a lot.

Now, they are leveling up their digital skills and becoming more confident in the digital world.

Day 8 was so fun

Did you know that taking a quiz can actively retrieve information,strengthens memory and improves long-term retention-even more than simply re-reading or re-studying the material.

After their session today, the fellows were divided into two groups and instructed to complete an assessment that required them to review all of the material they had learned this week. They were invited to select from questions 1 through 100 in a series of questions led by Mr. Timilehin and Miss Fathiat.

Finally, with 59 total points, group 1 won the quiz competition, while group 2 received 52 points. The guys put in a lot of effort, and we could tell that they had greatly improved.

The guys were urged to have faith in themselves and everything that they are. They possess an inner strength that surpasses all challenges.They are influencing not only their own destiny but also the future of those who will come after them with courage, dedication, and perseverance. Remember that only those who have faith in the beauty of their dreams will be able to access the future.
