The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Osogbo Chapter, is a professional community committed to engineering excellence, innovation, mentorship, career development, and public service. HISTORY OF NIEEE, OSOGBO CHAPTER
Sometimes, around 2010, the idea of coming together by the Electrical and Electronic Engineers in all areas of engineering practices was conceived by
some elders, notable among them were Engr Ero Phillips, Engr Dr D.A Folarin, Engr Alade, Engr Ajuya, Engr H.A. After some efforts, the Chapter was officially recognised, when it was inaugurated on 23rd June, 2012 with Engr Adetomiwa Zubayr as the pioneer chairman. Other members of the pioneer Executive Committee include:

Since the inauguration, the Chapter has been growing from strength to strength which resulted in the hosting of ICEPT 2015 in Osogbo. The memory of which still remains among the participants. The Chapter chairman produced within the period under review are:

The Chapter has recorded a very successful program with a tremendous increase in registered members annually. At present, the Chapter can boast of Seventy-five (75) members, including about fifteen fellows, and has been adjudged among the three topmost chapters all over the federation. Currently, the number one chapter among the 36 chapters all over the federation having won the best performing chapter back-to-back, Abuja 2024 and Osogbo 2025. Taking into consideration the antecedent of the chapter, Osogbo Chapter had successfully hosted two International Conferences and Exhibitions on Power and Telecommunications held in 2015 and 2025, respectively. The 2025 ICEPT in Osogbo remains the best ICEPT in the history of NIEEE. The Purpose of NIEEE includes
I. To create a platform for continuing career and professional development and technical services. II. To advance the cause of Electrical and Electronic Engineering personnel and firms through education, collaboration, and development of Codes and Standards. III. To encourage innovative development of sustainable solution by harnessing the various specialized fields of power engineering, Electronic, Clean Energy, Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Radio frequency Engineering, Signal Processing, Broadcasting, Instrumentation, Optics and Photonics, Hardware Engineering, Power Electronics, Electromagnetics and Waves, Microwave Engineering, Nanotechnology, Electrochemistry, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Material Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Control and Automation, Avionics, Quantum Engineering, Embedded/Emerging Technologies which covers IoT, Big Data, Block Chain technology etc
IV. Provide technical support for discussion, mentorship, development, and dissemination of knowledge to members and the public. V. To promote the welfare and protect the interests of practitioners of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Public and private sectors of the economy through advocacy, career progression, recognition, and all other means. VI. To engage and advise government, industry, and commercial establishments connected with Electrical and Electronic Engineering on relevant subjects and matters concerning professional practice. VII. To work with any relevant regulatory bodies to achieve the above aims and objectives. Osogbo NIEEE is member-centric in outlook and hopes to be the best chapter in the NIEEE family with highly motivated and active members.
