A Story for You with important message:

A King had a male servant who, in all circumstances always said to him;
“My king, do not be discouraged because everything Olodumare does is perfect, no mistakes.”

One day, they went hunting and a wild animal attacked the king, the servant managed to kill the animal but couldn't prevent his majesty from losing a finger.
Furious and without showing gratitude, the King said; if Olodumare was good, I would not have been attacked and lost one finger.
The servant replied, 'despite all these things, I can only tell you that Olodumare is good and everything He does is perfect, He is never wrong'.

Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his servant. While being taken to prison, he told the king again, Olodumare is Good & Perfect.

Another day, the king left alone for another hunt and was captured by savages who use human beings for sacrifice. On the altar, the savages found out that the king didn't have one finger in place, he was released because he was considered not "complete or sufficient enough" to be offered to the gods.
On his return to the palace, he ordered the release of his servant and said;
My friend, Olodumare was really good to me. I was almost killed but for lack of a single finger, I was let go.
But I have a question; If Olodumare is so good, why was I allowed to put you in prison?

His servant replied; My king, if I had not been put in prison, I would have gone with you, and would have been sacrificed, because I have no missing finger.
Everything Olodumare does is perfect, Olodumare is never wrong.

Often we complain about life, and the negative things that happen to us, forgetting that everything happens for a purpose. I am thankful I am alive with possibilities! Be blessed, and don't be envious, or shocked when others are prospering because you don't know what they have been through to get where they’re at (the tests, trials and tribulations)
So thank Olodumare for what you have.
*Little is much when Olodumare is in it.
*It Is Well With Orisa's grace.
If Olodumare is for us, who can be against us?
Olodumare has seen your struggling and looking for good things,
Ase 📿 🙏

IFÁ teaches us in the Odù Ìká Sà

Proverb in Yorùbá:
Ìká sá níí ṣe ẹni kì í sá fún àjálù,
Ìká sá níí ṣe ẹni kì í sá fun ìkú,
Ìká sá níí ṣe ẹni kì í sá fún ẹ̀sùn àìmọ́tótó,
Níbi tí a bá gbé tẹ́tí si ìmọ̀ràn Ifá,
Níbi náà là ń rí ìmúlẹ̀ ayé.

Translation:

Ìká Sà teaches us that it is useless to run away from difficulties,
one cannot run away from death,
one cannot run away from unjust slander,
because only by heeding the advice of Ifá do we find stability and firmness in life.

In the Odù Ìká Sà, Ifá reminds us that running away never solves problems. Life brings inevitable trials: adversity, death, and injustice are experiences that every human being must face.

He who runs away only postpones the inevitable; but he who listens to and applies the advice of Ifá finds firmness, peace, and direction. This Odù teaches us that we must face every challenge with courage, strengthened by the wisdom of Orúnmìlà.

Ìká Sà also warns against lies and betrayal, as these destroy destiny and trust. True strength is not in escaping, but in walking with righteousness, patience and obedience to Ifá.

Let's learn not to run away from challenges,
that we know how to stand firm in the truth,
and may the word of Ifá always be our guide.

Àṣẹ. Àṣẹ. Àṣẹ.
Àlàáfíà ni yóò bá wa lóju gbogbo ọjọ́ wa.
May peace be with us every day.
Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Lagbà! Ìṣẹ̀ṣe á gbè wá ooo.

How Òsùn Became Apetebi

The story goes that Òsùn became Orúnmìlà’s Apetebi—a special wife and spiritual companion—after proving her loyalty, wisdom, and love. According to Yoruba legend, Òsùn was deeply moved by Orúnmìlà’s wisdom and generosity, so she chose to stay by his side, becoming his Apetebi and strengthening the union between feminine nurturing and divine knowledge.

Her devotion was tested when a crisis struck, and she chose to protect Orúnmìlà above all else. This act of selfless love made Orúnmìlà declare her his Apetebi, symbolizing the perfect harmony between wisdom and compassion in Yoruba cosmology. The Apetebi role is highly honored, representing virtue, support, and spiritual partnership in the Ifá tradition.

The Apetebi plays a super important role in Ifá rituals! She’s seen as the spiritual wife of Orúnmìlà (and by extension, the wife of a Babalawo), and her main duties include caring for the Ifá shrine, maintaining ritual purity, preparing sacred meals, and supporting ceremonies. She’s also expected to be a role model in the community, showing good character, honesty, and nurturing both her family and the spiritual home.

Apetebi aren’t just helpers—they’re guardians of tradition, protectors from negative forces, and vital partners in all things Ifá.

The Difference Between Apetebi & Ìyánífá

⦁ Apetebi is the wife of a Babalawo (Ifá priest) and plays a supportive, sacred role—she helps with rituals, cares for the shrine, and maintains spiritual purity, but her authority is limited to these supportive and domestic duties.
⦁ Ìyánífá is a fully initiated female priestess of Ifá who has undergone years of training. She can perform divination, lead ceremonies, counsel others, and has her own spiritual authority—her role is much more independent and leadership-oriented.

So, all Ìyánífá are Apetebi (since they are spiritually "married" to Ifá), but not all Apetebi are Ìyánífá, because being an Ìyánífá requires special training and initiation.🌴🌴
