AWODECI distributes food stuff to elderly people in Osun after free medical check-up
Assist Women and Develop Children Initiative (AWODECI) has distributed foods stuff to the elderly and also offered them free medical check-up.
The programmes are the annual practice of Assist Women and Develop Children Initiative to end her activities for each year with the elderly.
Despite the harsh economic situation in the country, year 2023 edition of the programme was better as the aged got rice and cash of which they used in celebrating the Christmas and New Year seasons.
The beneficiaries are usually from Kajola, Orisunmibare, Elere, Owode and Ede all in Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State.

In her opening remarks at the event, Mrs. Jadesola Ogunniyi, the Executive Director of AWODECI, Mrs. Ogunniyi Jadesola said the annual gathering which started in December 29th in 2011 is a way of thanking God for the successful completion of every activity in the year and appreciating God for ending the year joyfully.
As usual, the elderly were lectured on health (types and quantity of food to be taken), their blood pressure was checked and necessary medical advice was given.
At the end of the programme, 2 kongos of rice with cooking ingredients were given to each of the participants.
While departing, a token which was a donation from Evangelist Ayomide Sanya (who has been contributing to the programme for the past four years) was given to each beneficiary for their transportation.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Raliatu Oladele from Ede thanked the Executive Director, the organization and all that contributed the annual gifts. She prayed for the expansion of the organisation.
