*HADITH SERIES*

*Increasing Rizq (Provision)*

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever constantly seeks forgiveness (Astaghfar), Allah will make for him a way out of every difficulty, and provide for him sustenance from where he does not expect.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, 3819)

This Hadith teaches that seeking Allah’s forgiveness brings both spiritual and worldly benefits. When a person turns to Allah sincerely and repents from sins, Allah not only forgives them but also blesses them with relief from hardships and opens doors of unexpected provision. Rizq (sustenance) is not limited to money, it includes health, peace of mind, good family, and opportunities. The key is to maintain Taqwa (God-consciousness), trust in Allah’s decree (Qadr), and avoid sin, for sin can block blessings.

Allah says:

“And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect.”
(Surah At-Talaq, 65:2–3)

This verse confirms that true provision comes from Allah alone. When a believer puts their trust in Him and obeys His commands, Allah takes responsibility for their sustenance in ways beyond human planning.

*Key Lessons:*

1. Stop sinning: Sins can block blessings; repentance reopens doors.

2. Have Taqwa: Fear Allah and live righteously for unseen provision.

3. Make Dua: Ask Allah sincerely, especially at blessed times (Fajr, sujood, between Adhan and Iqamah).

4. Be grateful: Saying Alhamdulillah increases blessings.

5. Give charity: It purifies wealth and attracts more Rizq.

6. Trust Allah’s plan (Qadr): What is written for you will reach you, so be patient and grateful.

*Asking Allah for Health and Well-being*

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“I heard Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq on this minbar saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on this day last year. Then Abu Bakr wept, and he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘You will not be given anything, after the word of sincerity (i.e., the Shahadah), like well-being, so ask Allah for well-being.’” (Musnad Ahmad: 10)

This hadith teaches us the great value of health and well-being. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) told us that after the blessing of faith in Allah (saying the Shahadah), one of the greatest gifts a person can receive is good health. Without health, it becomes difficult to worship Allah properly, to take care of family, or to enjoy life’s blessings. This is why we should constantly make du‘a (supplication) asking Allah to grant us well-being, both in our bodies and in our hearts.

Allah SWT reminds us in the Qur’an:
“And when I am ill, it is He (Allah) who cures me.”
(Surah Ash-Shu‘ara 26:80)

This verse shows that ultimate healing and protection come only from Allah. Doctors, medicine, and remedies are all means, but the source of true well-being is Allah Himself.

In summary, this hadith encourages us to value health as a precious blessing and to regularly ask Allah for it. Just as we seek forgiveness and guidance, we should also pray for physical and spiritual well-being, because these are keys to living a balanced and meaningful life.

*Caring for Widows and the Poor*

Narrated Safwan bin Salim: The Prophet ﷺ said, “The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah's cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all the night.” (Bukhari: 6006)

This Hadith shows the high status of serving widows and the needy. The Prophet ﷺ compared such a person to a mujahid (warrior in Allah’s path), or someone who fasts by day and prays by night—both considered among the best forms of worship. This means that caring for the weak in society is not just charity, but an act of devotion that earns immense reward.

Allah SWT reminds us in the Qur’an:
"And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], ‘We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.’" (Qur’an 76:8-9)

*Key Lessons:*
1. Supporting widows and the poor is equal in reward to great acts of worship.

2. True service to people is considered striving in the path of Allah.

3. Islam teaches us to prioritize the vulnerable and uphold their dignity.

4. Charity is not just giving wealth, but caring, working, and supporting others sincerely for Allah’s sake.

By caring for widows and the needy, one gains spiritual rewards as if constantly worshiping, while also spreading mercy and justice in society.

*HADITH SERIES*

*Hope with Fear*

Narrated Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه): Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“Verily Allah created Mercy. The day He created it, He made it into one hundred parts. He withheld with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent down one part to all His creatures. Had the non-believer known of all the Mercy which is in the Hands of Allah, he would not lose hope of entering Paradise; and had the believer known of all the punishment which is present with Allah, he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6469)

This hadith teaches us about the balance between hope in Allah’s mercy and fear of His punishment. Allah’s mercy is so vast that what we see in this world—such as the love of a mother for her child or kindness among people—is only a fraction (1%) of His total mercy. The remaining 99% is saved for the Day of Judgment. This shows that no matter how many sins one has, they should never despair of Allah’s forgiveness. At the same time, believers must not become arrogant or careless, because Allah’s punishment is real and severe.

Allah SWT reminds us in the Qur’an:
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Qur’an 39:53)

*Key Lessons*

1. Allah’s Mercy is immense – greater than we can imagine.

2. Never lose hope – even if you have sinned, repentance opens the door to Allah’s forgiveness.

3. Never feel too safe – true faith is to balance hope in Allah’s mercy with fear of His punishment.

4. Mercy in this world is just a glimpse – the real mercy is preserved for the Hereafter.

*HADITH SERIES*

*Good Character is Virtue*

On the authority of an-Nawas bin Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Righteousness is in good character, and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul, and which you dislike people finding out about." [Muslim] [Imam Nawawi: 27]

This Hadith teaches us that
Righteousness is in good character: This means that true goodness and piety are not just about performing rituals, but fundamentally about embodying excellent moral character and treating others with kindness, justice, and integrity. It encompasses virtues like honesty, compassion, patience, and humility.

Wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul, and which you dislike people finding out about: This part offers a psychological and social indicator of sin. When you are about to do something and feel an inner unease, doubt, or guilt (it "wavers in your soul"), that is a sign it might be wrong. Furthermore, if you would be ashamed or embarrassed for others to know about your action, it's a strong indication that it is a wrongdoing. This highlights the importance of one's conscience and the natural human inclination towards seeking good reputation and avoiding public shame.

Allah SWT says:
"Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and wrongdoing and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded." (Quran 16:90)

*Takeaway*
Goodness is not just in prayer and fasting, but in embodying noble character daily. If an action causes unease in your soul or shame before people, leave it. True righteousness is being the same person in private as in public—pleasing Allah above all.

*The world: A prison for the believers but paradise for disbelievers.*

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.” (Tirmidhi: 2327, Ibn Majah: 4113)

This hadith means that for a believer, the world is like a prison because they are restricted by the commands of Allah. They cannot indulge freely in desires, sins, or worldly pleasures without accountability. Instead, they live with patience, self-control, and hope for the eternal reward of Jannah (Paradise). On the other hand, for the disbeliever, this world feels like paradise because they live without such restrictions. However, their enjoyment is temporary, for in the Hereafter they will face loss and punishment if they die without faith.

Allah confirms this in the Qur’an:
“And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the home in the Hereafter for those who fear Allah. Will you not then understand?” (Surah Al-An’am 6:32)

Important Lessons:

1. Life in this world is temporary and full of tests for believers.

2. True freedom and reward are in the Hereafter, not here.

3. Patience, discipline, and obedience to Allah bring eternal success.

4. Believers should not envy the temporary luxuries of disbelievers.

5. The focus of a Muslim should be preparing for the everlasting life in Jannah.

*HADITH SERIES*

*Virtue of Dua*

Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Nothing turns back the Decree except supplication, and nothing increases the life-span except righteousness.” [Tirmidhi: 2139]

This Hadith teaches us the great power of dua (supplication). Although everything is decreed by Allah, He has given us the means to change certain aspects of our lives through turning to Him sincerely in prayer. Dua is a believer’s weapon—it can protect us from harm, bring blessings, and even avert difficulties that were destined. At the same time, living a righteous life—by obeying Allah, being truthful, kind, and just—can be a cause for increased blessings in one’s lifespan.

Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’” (Surah Ghafir 40:60)

This verse confirms that Allah loves when His servants turn to Him in dua, and He promises a response.

*Key Lessons:*

1. Dua has power: It can change one’s condition and even avert what was decreed.

2. Righteousness brings barakah: Living a good, pious life can increase blessings and life-span.

3. Allah invites us to ask: We should never feel shy or hopeless in calling upon Him.

4. Balance of dua and deeds: Supplication and good actions go hand in hand.

HADITH SERIES

BUrden of Disease

Aishah (RA) narrated that the 11 of Allah (be é and blessings be upon him) said:
"The believer is not afflicted by the prick of a thorn or what is worse (or greater) than that, except that by it Allah raises him in rank and removes sin from him." [Tirmidhi: 968]

This Hadith teaches us that every pain or difficulty a believer experiences – even something as small as a thorn prick – is never wasted. Rather, it becomes a means for Allah to forgive sins and raise the believer in status. Illness, suffering, or hardship are not punishments for the believer, but opportunities to gain closeness to Allah, purification, and reward.

Allah also reminds us in the Qur’an:
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient – who, when disaster strikes them, say, 'Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.' Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are rightly guided." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155-157)

In simple terms, both the Hadith and the Qur’an verse show us that struggles, illnesses, and pains in life are a way for Allah to forgive us, purify our hearts, and bring us closer to Him. A believer should remain patient, hopeful, and remember that even the smallest hardship carries hidden blessings.

*HADITH SERIES*

*Believers, Hypocrites, and the Recitation of the Qur’an*

Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari reported that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“The example of the believer who recites the Qur’an is like that of a citron – its fragrance and taste are both good. The example of a believer who does not recite the Qur’an is like that of a date – it has no fragrance but its taste is good. The example of a hypocrite who recites the Qur’an is like that of basil – it has a fragrance but its taste is bitter. And the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Qur’an is like that of a colocynth (bitter apple) – it has no fragrance and its taste is bitter.”
(Ibn Nasai: 5037)

The Prophet (ﷺ) used fruits and plants to give us a clear picture of people’s relationship with the Qur’an and faith. A true believer who recites the Qur’an is beneficial inside and out—like a fruit that smells and tastes good. A believer who does not recite is still good, but they are missing the extra beauty of reciting. A hypocrite who recites may sound nice outwardly, but inside their faith is bitter. Finally, a hypocrite who neither believes nor recites has no goodness at all.

This reminds us that faith should not only be in the heart but also shown through action, and nothing beautifies the believer more than connecting to the Qur’an.

Allah says in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, can expect a profit that will never perish.” (Qur’an 35:29)

*Important lessons*

1. Reciting the Qur’an increases the beauty and strength of our faith.

2. Belief alone is good, but belief with action is far better.

3. Hypocrisy is dangerous and it deceive people outwardly, but Allah knows the inner state.

4. We should strive not just to be believers, but believers who are connected to the Qur’an.
