PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION OF
AKWA IBOM STATE MOTORCYCLE WELFARE ASSOCIATION.
(AKS-MOWA)

WE, THE COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE RIDERS AND OPERATORS* in Akwa Ibom State, being desirous of promoting unity, welfare, discipline, and dignity among ourselves;

"RECOGNIZING" that motorcycle transportation plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of Akwa Ibom State by providing affordable, accessible, and efficient mobility to our people;

"ACKNOWLEDGING" the need to regulate our activities, protect the interests of our members, and foster peaceful coexistence with government, security agencies, and host communities;

"CONSCIOUS" of the challenges of accidents, harassment, economic hardship, and insecurity facing riders, and the need to establish structures for safety, training, and mutual support;

"DETERMINED" to uphold the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Government of Akwa Ibom State, and to support the ARISE Agenda of the State Government;

"COMMITTED" to the principles of democracy, transparency, accountability, respect, and service to humanity;

"DO HEREBY" make, enact, and give to ourselves this Constitution for the good governance and effective administration of the Akwa Ibom State Motorcycle Welfare Association (AKS-MOWA).

AKWA IBOM STATE COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS WELFARE ASSOCIATION is the formation of the various Local Government Areas Motorcycle Management Committees formed across the Thirty One (31) Local Government Areas by the Executive Chairmen in Akwa Ibom State.

The Aims and Objectives of the formation of this body is to interface with all Commercial Motorcycle Operators in each of the LGAs on their welfare in various units, Communities and villages at the grassroots level and relate to the authority of the Local Government Council when necessary.

The is a regulatory body that focuses more attention on the Welfare of ALL Commercial Motorcycle Operators and implements the policy of the Government at the grassroots level for the purpose of database management, security technicality, Sanitation and general implementation of Government decision making.

For the purpose of uniformity and implementation of Arise Agenda of His Excellency Dr. Pastor Umo Eno on Human and structural initiatives, the various Local Governments Motorcycle Management Committee thereby decided to come together and formed this body called the *AKWA IBOM STATE COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS WELFARE ASSOCIATION* to address the aforestated issues at the grassroots level across the (31) Local Government Areas.

This body has a legal status through a registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission and with the registration number: 9586167. The body has authority of No Objections from the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Transport and has operational authorization from the various Local Government Areas of the State.
