I’ve been seeing a lot of “Surprise Package for Her” adverts lately and honestly, it’s becoming a trend worth talking about.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of women supporting women. It’s beautiful to see ladies showing up for each other, gifting, celebrating, and spreading love. That part? 100% wholesome 👏🏽
But let’s be honest for a moment…
Why is it almost 99.9% “for her”?
I’m yet to see an advert boldly saying “Surprise Package for Him.”
Are men no longer deserving of appreciation?
Has gifting suddenly become a one-sided thing?
It’s starting to feel like the whole culture of surprise packages has been narrowed down to just men gifting women and that’s fine but let’s not pretend balance doesn’t matter.
And let me be very honest 😅
Most of these vendors advertising “surprise packages for her” have probably never surprised their ex-boyfriends or even their current boyfriends with anything close to that energy.
So the question is:
Is this really about appreciation… or just marketing to where the money and hype currently are?
Just a thought. No hate.
Let’s normalize appreciating everyone men included. 💯
