Kito Survivor Support Network (KSSN):
Mission:
The Kito Survivor Support Network (KSSN) is a community-led initiative dedicated to providing support, resources, and advocacy for individuals who have survived Kito-related trauma, including extortion, blackmail, and harassment based on their real or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
Background:
Kito cases have become increasingly prevalent in Nigeria, with LGBTQI individuals facing targeted attacks, exploitation, and violence. These incidents often result in severe emotional distress, financial loss, and social isolation. In response, KSSN was established to create a safe, confidential, and inclusive space for survivors to share their experiences, access support services, and connect with others who have faced similar challenges.
Objectives:
- Provide emotional support and counseling services for Kito survivors
- Offer practical assistance, such as financial aid and legal support
- Foster a sense of community and connection among survivors
- Raise awareness about Kito-related issues and promote advocacy efforts
- Collaborate with partner organizations to advance LGBTQI rights and protections
Values:
- Confidentiality and discretion
- Survivor-centered approach
- Inclusivity and diversity
- Empowerment and self-determination
- Solidarity and collective action
Target Audience:
KSSN primarily serves LGBTQI individuals who have experienced Kito-related trauma, including those who identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, or non-binary. Our services are also available to allies and family members seeking support and resources.
