*SPEECH DELIVERED YESTERDAY SUNDAY, 21ST OF DECEMBER, 2025 BY MR. KAYODE OLAMIGOKE PIONEER PRESIDENT, ONDO STATE PROGRESSIVE ACTIVATORS (OSPA) AT THE 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF OSPA EXECUTIVES TENURE & END-OF-YEAR CELEBRATION**
Distinguished guests, leaders, esteemed members, friends of OSPA, ladies and gentlemen,
It is with profound gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you all to our Two-Years in office and End-of-Year Celebration. Today is not just a gathering—it is a reflection of how far we have come as an association dedicated to leadership development, youth empowerment, community service, and the progress of our dear community.
OSPA was officially established on the 2nd of March, 2023, built on a vision to raise a new generation of leaders committed to the prosperity and unity of dear nation. Since that day, our journey has been one of passion, sacrifice, selfless service, remarkable & unprecedented achievements.
Distinguished ladies & Gentlemen, One of our early milestones came on 20th May, 2023, when we organized a landmark Leadership Symposium with the theme: “Developing a New Generation of Leaders: The Foundation for Nigeria’s Prosperity and National Cohesion.”
The symposium recorded over 70 participants and attracted distinguished personalities such as Prof. Ogunduyile Sunday Robert, former Vice Chancellor, Olusegun Agagu University of science and technology, Okitipipa, Ondo State who served as Chairman and Father of the Day; while Brig. Gen. Funso Oyeneyin & Bar. Sarafa Okewoye (SOJ), First and send keynote speakers respectively and several respected youth leaders from within the kingdom were in attendance. This event marked a major step in positioning OSPA as a platform for intellectual growth and Community engagement.
On 5th November, 2023, our Constitution—the foundation document of OSPA—was formally signed and became effective. This gave OSPA the strong legal and organizational structure it needed. 7 months after, we conducted our first election on 3rd December 2023, setting a democratic example for young people in Ondo State and beyond.
Our administrative legitimacy was further strengthened when OSPA obtained official registration with the Ondo West Local Government, receiving our certificate on 23rd March, 2024.
In the area of youth and sports development, OSPA made history between 28th October and 3rd November 2024, by organizing the First Inter-Local Government Football Competition involving 8 local governments football teams across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State. The event was hosted at Adeyemi Federal University of Education's Sports Stadium.
We are proud that Ondo West team emerged 1st, while Ondo East team secured 2nd place. This competition became a unifying event, promoting healthy rivalry, peace, and community pride.
In our commitment to empowerment, we celebrated the graduation of Miss Adebayo Adeola on 20th September 2025, a passionate fashion-design trainee who completed our free skill-acquisition training programme in fashion designing of 18 months duration. She was empowered with a brand-new sewing machine and starter tools to support her entrepreneurial journey.
The empowerment was facilitated by OSPA and fully sponsored by Hon. Onidare Sunday Bukunmi (OSB), the chairman Ondo Northwest LCDA Enuowa, Ondo City. This remains one of our proudest moments, reminding us that empowerment transforms families and strengthens communities.
We also hosted a highly impactful Youth Retreat on 4th October 2025, themed: “Local Government full Autonomy; a Catalyst to Youth Engagement and Community Development.” Over 90 young people participated.
The retreat attracted notable dignitaries including Hon. Ayotunde Akinfolarin, Executive Chairman of Ondo West; Chief Akinnuoye Laide, the Basorun of Ondo Kingdom; Hon. Biola Oladapo, Member ODHA Ondo West Constituency II; Prophet Oluwashina Ogunmoyero, pioneer Ondo West APC Vice Chairman; Rtn. Akintayo Akinjolie, representing the Speaker ODHA; and many young opinion leaders across Ondo East & West Federal Constituency.
On the same day, OSPA proudly presented a total cash of ₦250,000 to the 1st and 2nd place winners of the 2024 OSPA Inter-LG Football Competition, this cash prizes was fully sponsored by OSPA PATRON Dr. Akintomide Michael Ajilo. This gesture reaffirmed our collective commitment to sports development and youth motivation.
Dear guests, In the last two years, we have also visited over 35 notable leaders within and outside Ondo East & Ondo West. The encouragement, mentorship, and support received from these engagements have strengthened our mission, renewed our hope & determination to serve better.
Beyond these achievements, OSPA has continued to provide social welfare supports to it's members and members of the community whenever necessary, fulfilling our responsibility as a family-oriented association.
Today, as we celebrate two years of consistent impact, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our grand Patron Brig Gen funso Oyeneyin rtd, our distinguished Patron Dr. Akintomide Michael Ajilo, our learned legal Adviser, Barr. Sarafa O. Okewoye, OSPA executives & her Board of trustee, all OSPA members, partners, donors, volunteers, and leaders who believe in our vision. These achievements are a product of our collective efforts, unity, and dedication.

As we look forward to a prosperous new year, we reaffirm our commitment to:
- expanding youth empowerment programmes,
