History
ONYC was established in 2023 in the Owo area of Ondo State. It was formed in order to unify youth efforts from the six Local Government Areas of the Ondo North Senatorial District, create structured parliamentary-style youth representation, and build programmes around digital transformation and international partnerships.

1st Youth Congress (2025-2027)
Under its constitution, ONYC includes a youth-legislative body called the Youth Congress (akin to a youth parliament). The first assembly covers the period 2025 to 2027, and members serve for two years with no immediate renewal.

Programmes & Initiatives
YouthConnect AI (Powered by ONYC): A planned artificial-intelligence enabled platform for registering youth globally, hosting e-learning modules, facilitating virtual networking and mentorship, and organising data-driven youth policy insights.
Global Youth Leadership & Innovation Summit 2026 (GYLIS 2026): A major upcoming event organised by ONYC, scheduled for January 30–31, 2026, in Owo (physical) and online (virtual/hybrid). Theme: “Building Youth Capacity for Digital Transformation and Innovation”. The summit aims to bring youth leaders, NGOs, global partners, tech innovators, and policymakers together to launch YouthConnect AI, foster partnerships and develop youth-led solutions.

Governance & Membership
Membership eligibility covers youth aged approximately 15-45 (as defined in ONYC’s constitution). Members may participate in local council and congress elections, program activities, leadership development and policy initiatives. The constitution sets out amendment rules (two-thirds board plus youth congress approval) and dissolution processes (assets transfer to a registered youth development body in Ondo North).
