when we were children we thought everyone was our friend π
When weβre children, we think everyone is our friend.
We have big hearts.
We trust easily.
We believe that the people around us will always be there.
But as life goes on, something changes.
You start going through difficult moments.
Disappointments.
Failures.
Losses.
Hard seasons that reveal peopleβs true colours.
And slowly, the circle gets smaller.
Not because youβve become colder.
But because youβve become wiser.
You realise that everyone will show up for a party.
Everyone will show up when things are exciting.
Everyone wants a seat at the table when life is going well.
But very few people will show up when youβre struggling.
Very few people will sit beside you when youβre at your lowest.
Those are your real friends.
The ones who stay when thereβs nothing to gain.
The ones who check on you when nobody else does.
The ones who carry some of your burden when life gets heavy.
Donβt chase a large circle.
Protect the few people who have proven they genuinely care.
Because in the end, a handful of real friends is worth more than a crowd of fair-weather ones.
