You’re not alone. Sunday is coming

Some seasons don’t break you with noise. They break you in silence.
At night. In your thoughts. When everyone else thinks you’re “okay”.
But this verse reminds me: God doesn’t run from our broken places. He moves _closer_.
He’s not disappointed by your tears. He’s not in a rush for you to “get over it”.
He sits with you in the crush. He holds what feels too heavy to carry alone.
So if your spirit feels crushed today, breathe.
You’re not too broken for God.
You’re exactly the kind of heart He promised to be close to.

The Cross Didn’t Move*

I used to think being strong meant I had to fix my pain fast.
Bills piling? Hustle harder. Family pressure? Smile and say “all good”.
If I felt tired, I’d just bury it and move on.

Then I saw it again — Jesus on the cross. Arms open. Not coming down. Not pretending it didn’t hurt.
He wasn’t “fixing” it in that moment. He was holding space_ for it.

That hit me. Because most of my life I’ve been trying to run from pain or explain it away. But pain doesn’t leave just because you ignore it. It leaves when you sit with it long enough to learn what it’s teaching.
So lately I’ve been trying something new:
When the money runs out before month-end, I don’t pretend I’m okay. I say, “This is hard. And I’m still here.”
When family needs come and my own dreams get pushed back, I don’t call myself selfish for feeling it. I say, “I can care for them AND still matter.”
Holding space for pain doesn’t mean you stay stuck.
It means you stop fighting yourself while you heal.
The cross didn’t move. But Sunday came.
Maybe you’re in that Saturday season right now. The waiting. The hurting. The “nothing is changing” season.
Don’t rush it. Don’t shame it. Just hold space.
You’re not weak for feeling it.
You’re human. And you’re still standing.

Jesus had more than 12 disciples

Here’s how it breaks down:
*1. The 12 Apostles*
These are the 12 guys Jesus specifically chose, named, and sent out with authority. They’re listed in Matthew 10:2-4, Mark 3:16-19, and Luke 6:13-16. Names include Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot.
After Judas betrayed Jesus, Matthias was chosen to replace him.
*2. The larger group of disciples*
“Disciple” just means learner or follower. Jesus had many more than 12:
- In Luke 10:1, He sent out 72 others.
- John 6:66 says many disciples turned away when His teaching was hard.
- John the Baptist also had disciples who later followed Jesus.
- Women like Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna followed and supported Him.
*Key difference:*
- *Disciples* = anyone learning from Jesus. A big group.
*Apostles* = “ones sent out”. The 12 were a special group within the disciples, trained to lead and spread the Gospel.
So the 12 are the core team, but the disciple crowd was much bigger.
here’s the verse that shows it:
*Luke 10:1*
> "After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go."
Some translations say "seventy" instead of "seventy-two" because of manuscript differences, but the point is the same. Jesus sent out a group way bigger than the 12.
*What happened next:*
He gave them instructions for preaching and healing
They came back rejoicing: "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!"
