OYDA TAKES BOLD STEP AGAINST UNEMPLOYMENT IN OGERE!
In response to the growing challenge of unemployment in our community, the Ogere Youth Development Association (OYDA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to empowering our youths — especially young women — through practical skill development.
Over the past 10 days, OYDA, in collaboration with the Bakery Initiative for Employment and Empowerment Program (BIEEP), successfully trained 78 girls and ladies between ages 18 and 35 in Bakery and Confectionery Skills.
At the end of the training, each participant was presented with empowerment tools — including 3kg gas cylinders, frying pans, and essential raw materials such as flour, vegetable oil, and other ingredients — alongside a certificate of completion. The trainees were encouraged to put their new skills into immediate practice and become productive contributors to the local economy.
The graduation ceremony had in attendance representatives of the Ologere-in-Council and the Ogere Community Development Association (OCDA), who commended both OYDA and BIEEP for this laudable initiative.
The OYDA Executives, ably led by Comr. Abudu Ayodele Merit, expressed deep appreciation to Comr. Diko Oluwaseun, Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikenne Branch, whose effort brought the program to Ogere. Gratitude was also extended to all guests and community leaders for their support.
Comr. Ayodele Merit further assured that OYDA has many more impactful programs in the pipeline aimed at empowering youths and fostering community growth — while calling for continued support from all stakeholders whenever the Association calls upon them.
Together, we are building a more empowered and self-reliant Ogere!
