OSUN STATE GUBER ELECTION, TREND & OUTCOME
The just concluded Gubernatorial election in Osun State happened with many intrigues, opinions and lessons drawn by various Stakeholders.

Nevertheless, for us within the development/civic space, indicators shows that our sacrifices, energies, intervention, engagement and advocacy are paying off; tangible results are showing forth as the populace is becoming more conscious of their roles within the Governance structures.

Communities are owning the process, engagements are bringing results though yet to get to that sustainable point but we are not relenting, collaboration and partnership continues till we get the process right.

For us at Cedars for Human Welfare Initiative CEHUWEI, we are not neglecting the Local Government System as the closest tier of government to the people. As the LG Elections is coming up in December 2026, we are open to partnership and collaboration towards engaging the critical stakeholders and communities. The grassroot is the basis for development.

OYO STATE RC Q3 MEETING||
Cedars for Human Welfare Initiative (CEHUWEI)as member of the Oyo State Reintegration Committee, CEHUWEI joined the third quarter meeting held in August 2026, hosted by Nactal Oyo State Chapter at FAHPAC Homes.

The meeting reviewed the second quarter activities such as CMET deliveries, hosting of the South West States RCs Meeting in Oyo State, the Implementation meeting of YERP which supports the empowerment of young people who are Returnees and those from the implementation communities.

We had a major emphasis on the YERP Intervention by International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) which will be hosted at Ilero and Awe in Kajola and Afijio LGAs of Oyo State, about 700 young people will be beneficiaries.

Also, in the meeting, we had the National President of NACTAL in our mist who emphatically appreciated the Chairman of the RC and the entire South West Zone for their nomination for him to be the National President, and equally rounding up his tenure by October.

The meeting resolved to work more on submission of reports by members and making the CMET Member work effectively.

Cedars for Human Welfare Initiative CEHUWEI in partnership with Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative (AREAi) YouthHubAfrica Invictus Africa Education As a Vaccine and ACE Charity with support from Malala Fund is currently running an Advocacy Project in Oyo North and Oyo Central Senatorial districts of Oyo State.

The Advocacy project that will run for Four (4) weeks on Parrot FM 101.1 (Oyo North) and Brave FM 91.1 (Oyo Central) was tagged GREBS DIALOGUE: COMMUNITY HOUR purposely designed to engage the community members about processes with the BUDGET PROCESS, TRACKING the process and taking responsibilities as a critical stakeholders to make public finances work for the people.

For week 1, the focus of discussion was on Understanding Transparency and Accountability within the Education Sector, what it means, who are the stakeholders involved, how to ensure TA, and the roles of each stakeholders or actors within the education sector from top to bottom.

Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative (AREAi) is inviting young Civil Society Organisation (CSO) representatives in Oyo State to participate in a capacity-building training on Gender Budgeting and Analysis.

The training will equip participating youth CSOs with practical knowledge and analytical skills to understand public budgets through a gender-responsive lens, strengthen evidence-based advocacy, and contribute meaningfully to conversations around equitable public financing.

As young civil society actors, your voice and ability to engage with budget processes can play an important role in shaping policies and investments that respond to the needs of girls and underserved communities.
