TYPE OF IGBO GOD'S
The Igbo people, who are one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, have a rich and diverse pantheon of gods and goddesses, spirits and deities. These entities are believed to be responsible for different aspects of life, nature, and the cosmos, and are often associated with certain locations, objects, and rituals.
Some of the major Igbo deities include:
Amadioha - the god of thunder and lightning, known for his swift justice and punishment of wrongdoers.
Ala - the goddess of the earth and fertility, who is often depicted as a mother figure and protector of women and children.
Ikenga - the god of achievement and success, who is associated with strength, courage, and personal power.
Agwu - the god of medicine and healing, who is often invoked in times of illness and disease.
Njoku Ji - the god of yam, who is believed to ensure a bountiful harvest and good health.
Anyanwu - the goddess of the sun, who is associated with light, warmth, and life.
Idemili - the goddess of rivers and water, who is believed to have the power to purify and cleanse.
