📚 The NYCN Ukwuani School to School Campaign continued at Gracefield Dominion Secondary School, Obiaruku.

Students were sensitized on the dangers of drug abuse and social vices while being encouraged to embrace positive values, education, and responsible decision-making.

Notebooks and pens were also distributed as part of our commitment to supporting learning and youth development.

📚 NYCN Ukwuani Educational Initiative – School to School Campaign Against Drug Abuse and Social Vices

The NYCN Ukwuani School to School Campaign continued successfully at Gracefield Dominion Secondary School, Obiaruku, where students were sensitized on the dangers of drug abuse, cultism, and other social vices that threaten the future of young people.

The interactive session focused on empowering students with the knowledge and confidence to make healthy decisions, resist negative peer pressure, and pursue their educational and career goals with determination and purpose.

We were encouraged by the enthusiasm and engagement of the students throughout the program. Their participation reaffirmed the importance of continuous youth education and mentorship in building safer and healthier communities.

To further support their academic journey, notebooks and pens were distributed to students as part of the initiative's commitment to promoting education and personal development.

We sincerely appreciate the school management, teachers, and students of Gracefield Dominion Secondary School for partnering with us in this important cause.

📚 NYCN Ukwuani Educational Initiative – School to School Campaign Against Drug Abuse and Social Vices

We successfully flagged off the relaunch of the NYCN Ukwuani School to School Campaign at Umukwata Secondary School, Umukwata, marking the beginning of a renewed commitment to raising informed, responsible, and drug-free young people across Ukwuani LGA.

During the session, we engaged students on the dangers of drug abuse and social vices, the importance of making positive life choices, and the need to remain focused on their education and future aspirations. The students actively participated in the discussions, asked thoughtful questions, and demonstrated a willingness to become ambassadors of positive change within their communities.

As part of our support for learning, notebooks and pens were distributed to students to encourage academic excellence and reinforce the message that education remains a powerful tool for personal and societal transformation.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ukwuani Local Government Area Chapter, remains committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of mothers and children across our communities.

As part of our health awareness campaign, we encourage all nursing mothers to prioritize postnatal care during the critical weeks following childbirth. The period after delivery is essential for the recovery of the mother and the healthy growth and development of the baby.

We urge mothers to attend postnatal check-ups as recommended by healthcare professionals, practice exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and remain vigilant for any danger signs that may require urgent medical attention.

Postnatal care helps prevent complications, supports maternal recovery and ensures babies receive the best possible start in life. Early detection and timely intervention can save lives.

📚🚫 DRUG-FREE GENERATION CAMPAIGN RELOADED 🚫📚

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ukwuani LGA Chapter, is proud to relaunch and expand its Educational Initiative: School-to-School Campaign Against Drug Abuse and Social Vices.

This renewed phase of the campaign reflects our continued commitment to educating, mentoring and empowering young people to make positive life choices and resist the growing influence of drug abuse and other social vices.

With the theme "Ambassadors of Change, Live Positively, Building the Future," we will once again be taking this important message directly to secondary schools across Ukwuani LGA.

📅 Date: Between June 9th and the end of the school term in July

📍 Venue: Secondary Schools within Ukwuani LGA

This campaign will feature:

• Educational talks and sensitization

• Mentorship and counselling sessions

• Character and leadership development

• Life skills training

NYCN UKWUANI LGA CHAPTER CALLS FOR COLLECTIVE ACTION AGAINST THREATS TO COMMUNITY SECURITY AND DRUG ABUSE

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ukwuani Chapter emphasizes that the security of lives and property is a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of every citizen.

We commend the efforts of all security agencies, local vigilante groups, community security outfits, traditional institutions and other stakeholders who continue to work tirelessly to maintain peace and order across our communities. Their dedication and sacrifices have contributed significantly to the safety we currently enjoy. However, security is not the responsibility of security personnel alone.

We urge all residents, especially youths, to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities promptly and support ongoing efforts aimed at curbing crime and insecurity.

A safer and more peaceful Ukwuani can only be achieved when government, security agencies, community leaders and citizens work together with a shared commitment to protecting our communities.

We are also deeply concerned about the increasing abuse, sale and distribution of harmful substances such as Kunu/Ujiri, Colorado, Ice and other dangerous drugs within our communities.

Beyond the health risks these substances pose, they have become major contributors to criminal activities, violence and social unrest. We strongly discourage the distribution and sale of these harmful substances and call on those profiting from this destructive trade to desist immediately in the interest of public safety and community development. No amount of financial gain is worth the damage being inflicted on our youths, families and society.

We urge all young people to reject drug abuse, avoid involvement in the illicit drug trade and embrace productive activities that contribute positively to their future and the development of Ukwuani.
