APPEAL FOR SUPPORT: REACHABLE WHEELCHAIR FOR Bashir Ishaq

Dear Esteemed Donors, Partners, Philanthropists and Members of the Public,
The Abu Arief Community Development Foundation humbly appeals for your support to provide Bashir Ishaq with a durable, reachable wheelchair, preferably a light electric or power-assisted model.
The cost of the required reachable wheelchair is 850,000 Naira. The picture of the wheelchair is attached to this appeal.
This electric wheelchair will greatly assist him to:
1. Conserve Energy: Arrive at school and hospital without exhaustion, so he can focus in class.
2. Participate Fully: Move easily through hospital wards, corners, and narrow corridors during practicals and clinicals.
3. Complete His Training: Become a qualified nurse who will serve our communities, Insha’Allah.
The 3-wheel bicycle he currently uses is no longer meeting his academic and clinical needs. The distance is too far and it leaves him too tired to learn, and it cannot navigate the hospital environment effectively.

PROFILE
The Abu Arief Community Development Foundation presents the case of Bashir Ishaq from Nguru, Yobe State.
Bashir’s journey is a story of faith, resilience, and community support.
He completed his primary and junior secondary education at Hausari Schools, and his senior secondary at Honesty Secondary School.
By Allah’s grace, he scored above 200 in JAMB and gained admission to study Nursing Science at the College of Nursing Science, Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.
The cost of registration was a major hurdle. Suleiman Shettima stepped in with major support, and later Prof. Adam Muhammad Abubakar generously sponsored his education.
Today Bashir is in school, but he faces two major mobility challenges:
1. Distance to School: Bashir currently uses a 3-wheel bicycle. The long distance from home to school is exhausting for him. By the time he arrives, he is too tired to concentrate, and this affects his learning.
2. Hospital Practicals: As a nursing student, Bashir is required to participate in practicals and clinical rotations at FMC Nguru. The wards, corners, and narrow corridors of the hospital are difficult to navigate with his current manual wheelchair. Without proper mobility, he is limited in fully participating in the practical aspects of his course.
