Last week was particularly eventful at Labspace, with a series of impactful activities successfully delivered.
and Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education hosted the State-Level Demo Day, where five teams (schools) that participated in the bootcamp presented their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. At the end of the session, Assafwa Academy, Minna emerged as the winning team and was selected to represent Niger State at the regional competition.
The regional competition took place on the 16th of April, with the FCT team ultimately securing the slot to represent the North Central region at the National Competition.
Although the Niger State team did not clinch the regional ticket, the participating girls will still have the opportunity to attend the National Event. This includes participating in various activities, engaging in an educational tour, and experiencing the national competition Live.
More importantly, initiatives like this go beyond competition outcomes. By equipping young girls with practical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and exposure to real-world innovation ecosystems, we are laying the foundation for a new generation of confident, capable tech leaders. Each experience builds their curiosity, expands their ambition, and strengthens their belief in what is possible—ultimately shaping the future of technology through inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity.
