NASFAT Niger Zone Marks Annual Zonal Lailatul Qadr - Cleric highlights the Quran Scientific and Spiritul Miracles
The serene community of Salka, along Kontagora axis, was agog with spiritual fervor as NASFAT Niger Zone held its annual Zonal Lailatul Qadr on Friday, March 21, 2025. The event attracted guests and faithful from various parts of Niger State, with members across over seven branches and prayer groups in the zone converging for this spiritually significant night.
In his opening address, the Zonal Chairman, Prof. Rasheed Ojutiku underscored the importance of Lailatul Qadr, describing it as a night of immense blessings and divine mercy. He expressed profound gratitude to the host community for their hospitality and urged attendees to maximize the opportunity for supplications, as prayers made on this sacred night are believed to be readily accepted.
The spiritual essence of the gathering was further reinforced by a special prayer session, led by the Zonal Missioner, shaikh Muhammad Shafi Sh*ttu. He fervently prayed for the well-being of NASFAT members, the progress of the Muslim Ummah, and the peace and stability of the nation. He also reminded attendees of the significance of devotion and self-reflection during the last ten nights of Ramadan.
A major highlight of the event was a lecture delivered by the guest speaker, Ustaz Abdulkabir Abdulazeez, the Lead Missioner of Gauraka Prayer Group. Speaking on the topic “Lailatul Qadr: An Impeccable Opportunity for Believers,” he emphasized the scientific miracles of Islam and how the Quran serves as the "Mother of Science." He cited numerous recent scientific discoveries that align with revelations in the Glorious Quran, which was revealed over 1,400 years ago.
“The Night of Lailatul Qadr is not just great by itself; it is honored because it is the night the Quran was sent down,” Ustaz Abdulazeez remarked. “Everything the Quran touches becomes great, and this is why we must dedicate more time to its recitation, especially in these last ten nights of Ramadan.”
He further encouraged attendees to strengthen their relationship with the Quran, urging them to make consistent recitation and reflection on its meanings.
The event concluded with an outpouring of prayers and spiritual engagements, as worshippers immersed themselves in Quranic recitations, supplications, dhikr and Tahajud.
The NASFAT Niger Zone's successful hosting of this year’s Lailatul Qadr further reaffirmed its commitment to spiritual upliftment, knowledge dissemination, and communal unity, ensuring that the essence of this sacred night continues to resonate among believers.
